Looking good. Yours is set-up exactly how I was going to do mine, then after I bought half the stuff I lost all interest in spending more money on it. Long story short I sold what I had and now just run a completely stock truck. Your list sounds awesome. Keep up the good work!

Questions about the lowering kit. Do you need the UCAs to keep the right alignment? And do you still use the TSB springs in back?

Not necessary for alignment. Unless you did adjustable drop coils.

Still planning on some traction bars? You should also get a dyno done, and video it. :D

um. reverse the shackles to the stock location, different shocks (like QA1s or stock XR bilstiens) you could use blocks as well (angled ones which would help with the driveline vibes if you have problems with them. there are many solutions to lower the rear of that truck. since your SUA now, some of the parts designed for trucks like mine can be used.

honestly if your looking to go lower without a notch, you really should consider keeping the TSB 4 leaf pack. I'm actually in the process of locating a TSB 4 leaf pack for my truck, as I would really like the increased rate they provide. these trucks don't have much room to play with honestly once you get pretty low.

4 -link would be awesome, but it does require a bit of fabrication. 4 and 3 link rear live axle suspensions are popular with body on frame SUVs and such and provide a much better ride and better handling when done right, than leafs. its pretty win for a truck.

    oh

DONT FLIP THE OVERLOAD LEAF. this is a common trick on 1st GEN trucks, but it isn't safe to do on the 2nd GEN trucks. there is a rivet on the bottom of the leaf that will press up against the main leaf pack if flipped, which may cause premature wear. plus, it doesn't do anything. besides lift your truck.

Re-mounting the leaves to the OEM rear shackle would definitely get you lower. BUT, the frame would have to be notched. I have thought about actually adding in the DJM notch, so that I could do that.

His main complaint, about reverting to the original leaves, is due to the axle wrap he is getting.

I had the same issue with mine. Whether when I was lifted, or now. I alleviated the problem by adding a set of Caltrac traction bars. Problem completely solved.

Thanks for this info, Good loooking out.

I could really use a write up on this. I would rather go with what worked in the past. The fliped lower leaf was only a suggestion. No actuall proof of effectiveness..

I will takes som pics to help illustrate, tomorrow.

First, I called and spoke with Caltrac. Told them what I had.

We came up with the fact that they needed to be sure that I still had the 4x4 leaves.

Then, I assured them that I needed the XR lower plate that holds the axle to the springs.

They have multiple mounting brakets that attach to the from spring perches. Mine came with the "1 Hole" bracket. After install, I learned that I really neaded the "2Hole" bracket. What that bracket does, is drop the link a lower from the spring perch. It is necessary because with the "1 Hole", the Heim joint will be resting on a part of the 2nd leaf.

    A picture will better explain.

Also during install, of the Tundra Racing rear portion of the kit, I am sure that you noticed the plates, that bolt the axle and leaves together, had two holes.

Due to the way the those plates fit, one way on driver side, and opposite on passenger side, the plates that you receive from Caltrac have to have a hole cut to match that of the Tundra Racing plate.

The XR plate has a hole in the center, and not offset. That is why you must cut a hole to match. They will then be side specific.

All that done, and bars setup per the instructions, and I promise that you will have no wheel hop.
