Hey guys, I'm looking at camper shells for my truck. I know Leonard makes good ones. I'd like to know how you guys like a shell on a tacoma. In my opinion, I think it looks pretty cool. Give me some opinions.

If you need a shell, then get a shell.

I don't like the look of a shell, but I love the function of one. If I could afford one, I would get one.

i love the idea of the soft top... i'd like to get something like this for camping or wheeling, because i need to haul a motorcycle every now and then i don't want to get a fibreglass one. problem is they are $500-$600 and i'm not willing to spend that much.

I'd rather not have one, but I need one for many reasons. I chose the A.R.E. MX shell for mine. It's got sweet Windoors, side windows that filp up so you can get to stuff near the cab without crawling through the back (Leer and other some other brands have somthing similar too). I do have to say that although a well made shell, good paint, seals well, etc it seems like some of the stuff is a bit flimsy;; kind of a weird rubber hinge thing on the windoors, no prob yet but we'll see in 10 years.. The side glass is kinda on the cheap side I think, it looks a bit "wavy" at certain angles. With windoors, domelights, and carpet headliner it was about $1,800. Overall completely satisfied with it and the price paid.

(The little window above the cab on the front of the shell is just for looks, it's nice though, really breaks up the front of the higher topped shells.) IF you want more pics just let me know.

I have a Snugtop XTR, the only reason i got one this expensive is my step-dad paid for it as a bonus for a big job we completed. Snugtop makes some great stuff...and ive yet to see another tacoma, or other truck with this model on it.

Shells are a nice option on a truck. I had a Leer on my Dodge and liked it.
The cab high looks the best IMO...unless you need the added height.
