I like how much room is made available when removing the metal framework for the rear underseat storage area. That now on my list of things to do this spring!

Did not know that, but if it throws off the geometry of the arms by doing so you'd think they'd find a more suitable way:notsure:

Could you post a pic if you have one of the Uniball Adapter portion

holy shock angle , batman! maybe those shock angles are contributing to the bushing sleeves failing

with a lift spindle the lower is in double shear . but with stock spindles its impossible , unless the spread between the joints on the spindle is significantly longer than stock. just like the other companys the lower bolt is held in tension. not much different other than uniball location and suspension geometry.
but i always have this question. why are these companys increasing the spread of the balljoints on the spindle and the pivots on the frame remain in the same place? i just wish they would do it right instead of half ass, giving us a product that is thrown together solely for travel numbers.

what do you mean the spread of ball joints? did you mean uniballs? spread? and your saying for certain kits (engage for example) they should move the mounting location in further?

sorry my mind was just drawing blanks so i thought id ask!

^The distance between the arms at the spindle is changed because the pivot is IN the arm instead of above the arm. He is saying if they make that change, then you need to change the distance at the the inner pivots too. Otherwise you get geometry change

yup, so either move the lower inner pivot down too or alter the geometry at the spindle, which is what I did.

So does that mean the Solo spindles create a geometry change? IIRC they change the spread on the ball joints/uniballs at the spindle

Most of the time, they lift the top part of the spindle the same as the lower part keeping the spread of the uniballs the same. There are times when you would add a little more spread to help with camber change, which is ok. If you just made the spread at the spindle that much different then stock, you would have some crazy camber change

note, my post is not related to the uniball adapter set-up, I have not looked at it so I don't know how much it effects the spindle height

Im sure if you asked them to go that route they would be happy to fab you something up. now i can understand from their perspective to have a kit that is completely bolt on minus limit strap tabs.

it looks like engages would be stronger at that point? im just throwing whats going through my mind out there.

whats the positives and negatives of doing it both ways?
