Honestly I don't think any of my comments are bashing Mormons. I asked about some things I saw as a visitor and member to the Mormon church. Those are the things that drove me away from LDS. I didn't call you stupid, or ignorant, or say anything overly negative about the members of the church in general.

And I agree, there is scum in every church. Hell some percentage of this earths population is "scum" so whatever that % is, it's going to be there in any organization.

I also wasn't being hypocritical. From my experience when outsiders question Mormon beliefs they quote bible verses. But when bible verses are quoted to them that would seem to discredit the validity of LDS teachings of the religion in its entirety they are brushed aside.

Let me ask you a real question. What did you expect? You are a member of one of this planets most divisive organizations. Some of this is based on bad information and falsehood. However, much of it is based on fact and written documentation about how terrible a person Brigham Young was etc. Your religion specifically has lots of recent history that paints it in a VERY bad light. Afterall, it's only 160ish years old.

I would expect the same response if someone posted "Ask a Muslim" it's a very divisive subject with a ton of misinformation and probably not appropriate for a Toyota truck forum.

I believe a mans belief in "God" is between him and his god. No one else. It's why I very much dislike any organized religion. In the name of "God", more specifically religious organizations, more people have been murdered, raped and terrorized than any war we have ever seen.

Okay, im not even gonna sugar coat it, i believe this thread is wrong, period.

I dgaf about the mormon knowledge seeking thing.

The real problem i have with this thread, is that in a way it is promoting a specific religion. Its a very clever and subtle way of raising awareness and a meek attempt to put mormonism to the front of peoples thoughts. I think of this thread as a "internet mission"

Not bashing you, but i really wouldnt seek "advice, counsel, or answers to questions" from someone in the mormon faith as young as you.

Also, being in the state where there is zero separation of church and state, i get to witness all the troll-tastic ways the LDS church gets to flagrantly promote itself.

Again, religion and politics go hand in hand, and both subjects have proved time and time again to be a hot-button issue, full of misinformation and angst for people who dont see eye-to-eye.

I was told the mormons are taught that native americans and people of asian heritage were part of a cursed "tribe" of people. Sorry, should'nt have used the word hate, so freely.

    Lolz.

Thanks to my LDS friends for helping me establish a significant larder. Feels good to have something tucked away. If we all had the drive for personal responsibility and accountability tha the LDS folks I know have, this country would be in much better shape.

I think he is excited b/c he got his mission call and wants to prepare himself to see what kind of questions he may encounter while on his mission.

Kyle, I got your PM answering my questions, and it was a duplicate of what you posted, sent in case the thread was closed.

Thanks for taking the time to do so, and thank you for your patience through all of this.

I think it's a good opportunity to ask questions of a faith someone else is living, rather than just reading about. Sense in all religions is subjective. Sad to see this turn into a debate to prove a man's faith wrong.

My sister in law are mormons. Her husband told me that and also an ex co-worker who was a mormon for over a decade said that the new mormons believe that this life we are living in now is heavon. That when we die from this life. We will become god.

LOL, sorry but that is the funniest thing i ever heard of.

Also, why do mormons hound the people that left after just being converted and realizing its a bunch of bull. I know of several family that this happened to.

Nice input. They don't believe in debt, or welfare, and they are encouraged to have supplies stored away for emergencies. Sounds a lot like the guy in your sig line.
