so these two teenage girls (not good looking at all) knock on my door. They are part of a project to get points and collect business cards. Smelled a scam.
They took my business card before I realized what they were doing. Then they pull out this flyer to sell magazines. Gut instinct told me no and told them no. They were very slick talkers. I asked to see a reference or receipt from the company and saw MID WEST CIRCULATION.

Finally got rid of them and quickly went on google to search. All I see is 'beware' 'scam'....They apparently take your checks and drain your account.
Went outside to check and they were at my neighbors place. Told them to leave the apartment complex ASAP or calling the cops. They definitely would have taken advantage of my neighbor. Older couple.

They like using tactics like 'former military need help' and things like that.
Ask first for a receipt and see who you are paying. If it says MID WESTERN CIRCULATION, call the cops. They are scammers.

I've seen them hanging around Ft Bragg a lot. They're always trying to "earn points for meeting people" or some crap then pull out their little page of magazines nobody wants.

I've had these people come to my place a couple times saying they were selling magazine subs for their college and the winner got a free cruise. They were really pushy and annoying.

we keep getting guys knocking on our door at 830 at night saying they are selling magazines to fund them going to school to get their ged...through the door, i tell them we don't answer the door after dark unless we know who it is, no matter what....

makes me wonder if they are the same "company"

    hahahah!!.............

Main thing to look out for is MID WEST CIRCULATION.
They have some kind of ring leader that puts them in a days inn or motel 6, and they hit up all the neighborhoods. It's a shame, alot of these young kids are runaways.

    Yes.
I have had to tell people like this off on a few occasions around Phoenix. Once, they knocked on my door...other times approached outside of a store. It was always guys though, not girls.

I am with you--If anyone comes to my door --they are NOT selling magazines--let the dogs out!!!! BANG BANG ready!
Still a little "country" areas around---They would spend more in gasoline than possible "magazine subs"
    Unfamiliar people get long looks.
