99% of police are some of the nicest people you could ever meet. They have to deal with assholes all day because the person they pulled got a ticket and are innocent, in their eyes. That 1% are the one's that give every Man and Woman that wears a badge a bad name. At the end of the day they are just another human being doing a job they love, most LEO's I know aren't in it for the little bit of money they get, trying to make a living for themselves and their family. You'd have to pay me something like a million dollars a year to be a law enforcement officer because I sure couldn't do it.

 

I'd do it for free.


I can't wait to be a cop. Just a few more months...

 

Well good luck to you. If I was a cop you'd see my face on the front page of USA Today for going on a killing spree because someone cussed me out one to many times. Like I said I couldn't do it.

 

I'm better off staying in nursing where if I get a mouthy person I can just give them some meds and make the calm down.

 

I am yet to meet the illusive “cool cop” . . .

 

my old instructor in college was the coolest cop ever man the shit he told us was hilarious not to mention the funny skits we came up with to scare my wife lmao

 

yeah all the cops i know are cool are hell!! and some even gave me their number and said if i need anything to call them.

 

I have yet to have a problem with a cop....Something to think about.

 

There are assholes in every job, but the thing you always see and hear about is the bad, you don't hear about the good. Sad a few assholes, make the rest look bad. Don't want to see anyone lose there job, but threating to make something up to take him to jail, well it happens, but it sure the fuck shouldn't!

 

Yeah, the cop may have been being a silly dick but what about any of that was enough for him to lose his job? Usually takes more than just being a hardass dick hassling some yungsta late at night for a cop to be fired. What did we miss? Was the kid the mayor's son or something? Doesn't add up.

 

I think the fact that he threatened to make something up and pretty much telling the kid to try something so he could arrest him, is what did him in. IMO.

 

Still seems kinda thin and weak. Did he actually DO something? Because actions are what violates laws. Not excusing his behavior but if you're out late at night meandering around, expect to peak a cop's curiosity. Asking a cop questions will never get you anywhere either, just answer his.

 

If you think "all cops are assholes", I would suggest you sign up for a "ride along" with some of your locals. For the most enjoyment, make it a Friday night, 3rd shift. Don't worry if you were working all day and you think you may be tired and will want to fall asleep; the adrenaline will take care of that for you.

Yeah, this guy obviously had lost his cool and was throwing his badge around when he didn't need to. Sounds like he paid for that too. No place for it because part of their training means having to keep their cool. I recall a video of a trooper giving a guy a speeding ticket and that dude was flippin out like crazy on the cop, but the cop was cool as a cucumber.

 

I think the people cops have to deal with are assholes far far more often than cops ever are. One cop's actions don't stereotype all of them, be it good or bad.
