My 2012 Tacoma has rattles coming from everywhere. I have managed to fix all of them except for one rattle that is coming from the driver side. I cannot tell if it is coming from the dash or the roof. Has anyone experienced this? And what could it be? It is driving me crazy. I have taken the dash apart and still cannot find it.

I have a 2011 with only 2k on her and noticed noise of some sort coming from my driver side as well. Mine sounds like something in the dash - like a cracking sound every now and then when I hit a bump or anything.

It seems to be echoing. Which makes it hard to point out exactly. I have even looked in the engine compartment.

I had to take my 2012 back to the dealer 2x already for rattling in the dash on the drivers side. I noticed it when the AC was cranked (didn't matter if I was driving or not). After the first time they said it was some tube that was rattling (I can't remember exactly what they said). After I got a few miles away I noticed it was still doing it. I called the service manager and took it back in the following week (and dealt with the service manager). Picked it back up and it's good to go (for the most part). Occasionally when the AC fan is on full I can hear something, but no one else seems to be able to hear it (friends who have sat in the drivers seat and done it, not just the shop guys).

If it keeps bothering me I'll take it back again in the future, I've got 34k miles left for it to annoy me...

No money, all went to truck...
I had a rattle in my ceiling. I though something up there was rattling because when I hit it with my hand I could hear things moving around in there.

Then I realized it was my sunglasses in the overhead storage. HAHAHA

My '12 had only one rattle. It was coming from behind the front passenger door panel. I took the panel off and it was a spare wire of some sort. A plug if you will. Nothing was plugged into it but its there for something. Every time I hit a bump it rattled. I just taped it down and problem solved. To be fair,, I think it was the audio installers who left it loose.

Other than that my '12 sounds solid as a rock. Totally rattle-less.

    I've had a few on my 11.

The rear plastic pieces behind the rear seats rattled when the bass hit. Stuffed some paper towel pieces between the panels as a temporary measure till I cab get some felt.

There is a wiring loom in the passenger footwell around the blower that was rubbing. There is a tsb for that issue if you search. Fixed it with some zip ties.

There is a rattle in the dash that sounds like its behind the gauge cluster. It comes and goes. Haven't dug into that yet.

For those saying take it to a dealer, feel free. Personally the last thing I want is some dealer monkey taking my dash apart. Guaranteed it would return with scratches and more rattles than I started with. Dealers do emergency repairs only for me.

Yeah, the installers had that problem with mine too. They stuffed it with felt and no rattles and the felt acts like a dampener as well. I can thump as loud as I can go and no rattles of plastic pieces.

That's what I am afraid of. If I just had a good idea of what it was I would fix it. Might take it in anyway.

drove a 12 (double cab) and the only rattle I heard was coming from the rear cabin on the drivers side. Wasn't horrible.

I have this annoying rattle that appears to be coming from somewhere under the driver side. I took it to the dealer and left it overnight only to get a call the next day and be told that they couldn't hear anything unusual and that everything sounded normal. Yet I can hear it every morning when I start the truck. The rattle seems to go away after I drive for a few minutes and the truck warms up. I need to find some time to crawl under there and see if I can figure out where it is coming from.

Here is what it sounds like

I have the exact same rattle that is driving me nuts. Mine has been getting progressively worse since I got my truck a couple months ago. Any luck on fixing it?

I have not had any rattles but I have had to take it back to the dealer to get a whistling noise removed. They ended up having to change out the entire front grill. Now I have a whistling noise coming in through the drivers side door window.
