Hey Guys, Im getting a Cheap Aftermarket black primed grill today and wanna paint it. I saw lots of threads on this but that was for sanding the chrome grill and stuff. I have a primed grill so it sounds be easier right?? Just sand clean, use Adhesion Promoter, primer and paint and clear coat. Thats all right? Would the steps be the same on a primed grill as on a chrome one? What kind of primer would i use, what kind of sandpaper would i use. Do i need a rough sand paper or just a eaiser one since its already primed. Does autozone sell a black paint that close to the factory paint. I dont wanna order factory paint online cause it needs to be done this weekend. Any help would be great, thanks.

If its already primed and you trust it was done right, you could just sand it with 1000 grit paper and spray it black. You can get duplicolor at Autozone that they claim will match. I can tell you from experience that magnetic gray didn't match. I've heard white does, so I would expect black to as well.

Idk who esle to call to see who has it. I just might go to autozone and buy high gloss black paint and that might do it. Or should i just go gloss black.

Yes autozone sells colormatch. Look in the book to find the correct paint. I wet sand 1000 grit then 2000 grit then paint and clearcoat. Did that on my eyelids. Matches perfectly
