I was going to buy a truck that day one way or another. But it wasn't in my wallet. It was rolled up in a rubber band. Normally I only have like $3 in my wallet.

Nice! Not only did you make a fool of yourself at the dealership and you sent your wife to buy your truck, the deal you got wasn't that great.

How did I make a fool out of myself again? I got kicked out when trying to buy a truck.

Apparently you didn't read the story correctly. Here's the snippet you must of read wrong.

"So my wife was PISSED and gets in her car and takes off to the dealer. At this point I tell the guy on the phone "My wife's on the way down to yell at him in person, she's your problem now"

I didn't send my wife, she went to bitch the guy out. Did I say "I sent my wife down there", no. My wife doesn't take shit from anyone. I had no plans on going back there at all after that ordeal. She chewed ass and got a smoking deal on a this truck. You say its not that good of a deal, well I say it is. I have only seen and heard of a few people getting this truck, with the same options as mine, for under 30k OUT THE DOOR, (that includes tax and all the other fee's encase you didn't know that.)

All I can say is my wife is bad ass and I don't know many other dude's wives that would haggle for a truck for their husband because they felt that they were treated wrong.

I rolled into an Acura dealer some years back and was looking at an Integra. Had a beater for a trade. I asked for a good price as they had an f'n insane markup. Guy asked me to write a $100 check to show I was serious about a purchase. I was like "WTF dude?" He said it'd be returned if there was no deal. I can't tell you how stupid that was to me. After some back and forth, I broke it down for him, as to why I'd rather spend my Saturday sitting there talking to him instead of being anywhere else. Seemed like commitment enough to me. I refused when asked the same by the sales manager. He proceeded to say he wouldn't budge otherwise. I looked at my wife and said "these are the damn dumbest sales guys I've ever met" and we walked out. So Sunday afternoon, I get a call from the salesman. He said "I'm sorry, please come back and we can talk." I told him sure, "as soon as you write me a $100 check. And btw, there's a new Integra sitting in my garage."

    Hung up the phone.

    Idiots.

I had a pretty good experience when I bought my 2010 TRD Sport. I had done my homework and was pretty sure what I could get the truck I wanted for. Went to my local dealership, hooked up with a sales guy, test drove a truck, etc... The sales guy knew from talking to me that I knew a lot about the truck, options, cost, etc... I wanted a Sport and they didn't have one - so they said if we could come to an agreement on a price I would pay for the truck - they would get one - no problem. They printed out an invoice for a Sport like I wanted - they agreed to the price I wanted and then I gave them a few colors I would accept and they said we'll find one an call you on Monday. The sales guy called that Monday and said they found a black one, my preference, but it had a few dealer installed options on it - running boards and skid plate - if I wanted it the cost we agreed to would have to go up to account for these options - it was going to be like $650 more. I said no - find another one. He called back about 30 minutes later and asked if he only charged me "cost" for the dealer installed options would I take it - it would be about $400 more. I thought about it - said yeah what the hell - get the truck. The invoice that had the options listed that we originally agreed to a price on included a bet mat - so I was going to make sure they included a bed mat. When I picked up the truck I was looking at it with the sales guy and the finance guy and I noticed it didn't have the bed mat in it. I said something to the sales guy and he just kind of looked at me, put his finger to his lips, and winked at me. I went with the finance guy to sign all the papers, write him a check, etc... and I soon discover the cost for the running boards and front skid plate are not on the paperwork - the cost he was giving me was the original price we agreed to before they got the truck from another dealer. The sales guy knew the cost hadn't been added and he tipped me off not to ask questions about what should be included - like the bed mat - or they might have figured it out. Anyway, I didn't get the bed mat (didn't really need it) but I didn't pay a cent for the running boards and skid plate. I thought that was pretty cool of the sales guy. I've referred about three people to him since then - and one of them bought a car from him.

Other than lack of knowledge I have never really had a bad problem with mine.

This just came to mind. When I was signing the papers on my truck the salesman asked me if I wanted the paint protection (TST shield?) for $750. I declined. He then says "Well it's already on the truck so I'll just give it to you."

No shit I would have loved to see those dealership guys laughing........
They insulted you, worked your wife over and then STILL sold and made money off you.

    Amazing :D

The dealership where I bought my truck... Ugh. The salesman was benignly pleasant, no complaints there. The douchebag in the financing office was another story. One of those guys who kept talking to the guy friend who drove me to the dealership rather than me... Ya know, me, the one with the money? He just made his pitch for each extra service package, etc. but when my friend left the room he got weird, trying to confuse me into buying all this random crap, talking faster and not giving me time to think or ask questions. He might have sold some of it but I got mad and bought only 1 thing he had for sale. I get that he's paid on commission but if you can't represent your products honestly, I'm not buying them.

As for service, the oil changes and such were pretty standard, no worries. I got a block heater installed and that was fine.

But my issue was warranty repairs. The windshield isn't sealed properly, it's a known issue. There's a TSB about it, which I printed and took to 4 different dealerships. I had recordings of the noise from the windshield, YouTube videos, I even taped it off and figured out where it was. Still none of them would fix it. Ridiculous. They made other repairs- that squeaky fan was replaced- no trouble. No idea what the issue was but it ticked me off.

This past Tuesday I got my last free oil change service from the dealer but didn't check the oil level or filter before I drove off. I got home and - - - - everything was perfect as always! I'm gonna' keep taking my truck there, if you buy three services in advance it's only $75. That's cheaper than Stupid Lube and they use the correct filter and drain plug washer.
