The conditions this year have me nervous for spring break in silverton.

We'll all have beacons, shovels and probes, but i'd rather not get stuck in one of those.

 

Did you just throw away your spare?!?! I remember you saying you didn't have a spare at that meet&greet, but damn son. Why?

 

if you look under your truck, you will see two metal brackets hanging down on each side of the truck. One is near the exahust and one is directly on the other side (about the width of a stock spare apart). you cant miss them. I think that link showed which ones to cut

 

yeah man. takes like 2 min to do, just spray paint the parts where you cut to reduce the rust. I got my spare from Eric (CoTacoTRD) not sure if he has another.

you should be fine at silverton....everything has been ridden and compacted down so the base should be solid. questionable terrain would be the heli access areas where less traffic is seen.. plus they are all over that mountain with avy control and probably some of the most talented ski patrol in CO when it comes to deal with that terrain...

oh and FU! i f'in love silverton! was there in December and everytime i go there i'm ready to hang up the board for the season because i know i won't see better riding than i see there between the snow quality and the terrain that you are exposed to there!

 

Winter Park had an in bouds avy death on the 22nd. some strange snow conditions this year

 

You will have a guide in silverton though. I canceled my trip just because I have been under EPIC conditions this year would ruin it for me.
