One thing that annoys me about my Tacoma is the cheap tailgate latch. It just does not work well and a little plastic holder has broken and I cannot open the tailgate. Trying to find a replacement holder now.

Went to Toyota to get a replacement part for the Tailgate Latch. The little plastic part that the opening rod pivots on was broken. Toyota informed me I had to purchase the entire latch for $135.00 as they did not offer the part separately. Argggh! Ordered the Part.

So I went home took a 1/4" piece of plastic stock I had laying around and fabricated the part. (Got the plastic stock at woodcrafters.) Worked like a champ. Better than new and much stronger. Used a SS bolt and nut to attach the part to the latch, with a little blue Loctite. Secured the Rod with a Zip-Ty. Nice. :D

Called Toyota and cancelled the ordered part. Saved $135.00

The most annoying thing about my 2011 Tacoma is that the Bluetooth mic for my cell phone covers the fuel gauge. Who decided that was a good place to put it? Dorks.

I do not have an SR5, so I hate
    1) the wiper control, only has low and high, both are FAST
    2) no cruise control
    3) size, wish they made them as small as they used to be
    4) stiff clutch
    5) no lane change feature

    that's it

I hate that the inside is so CHEAP. i mean the door panels and the plastic everywhere has rattles constantly. I have fixed rattles behind the jockey box, driver and passenger door panels and another rattle just this morning down by the parking break.

and who puts rear drums on a truck. come on put some disks on the rear.

I have to disagree with the harsh criticism of the rear drum brakes. Rear Drum Brakes last a long time and they work well on the Tacoma. That being said I wish Toyota had installed disc brakes on the back originally, but I am not unhappy with the drums.

But if you cannot stand the rear drums,..change them to rear disc. brakes.
    It is not difficult.

+drum brakes make a much better parking brake. You ain't going nowhere with it firmly engaged.

I hate that this new Taco doesn't have a sunroof like my 2000 did. That's my only complaint. Well that and the stock stereo sucks ass with the windows open.
