The engine was making noise before I pulled off the freeway, a crackling sound, my girlfriend described it as "pop rocks" under the hood

ya thats what i though, but if you read a few pages back, he says he always works on his own truck, oil changes, etc.... so one would assume he would know what colors fluids are

That is the only reason why i said are you really for real...

If i am wrong about all of this, sorry , but like i said, we all have our opinions :/

    ^^ this

There is no way i would have the heat on if it were 60-70 deg out... I usually don't even have the heat on if it is 45 out

why is it so hard for people to believe that sometimes shit happens??

OP, I hope everything works out well for ya!

i gotcha, im just saying i dont think the kids has earned a flaming yet. i had a motor mount break on my t100 and put a pin hole in the oil filter. it was at night, i never saw smoke or smelled oil then i heard the valves start ticking and i shut it down immediately. shit happens that blows your mind sometimes

LOL I here ya I grew up in the northeast so after the winter... once it got above 30 it was t-shirt and shorts weather. Ever since i moved to the south in 05' anything below 50 I'm like f#*& it cold, yet i refuse to turn the heat up, on principle...

LOL, I was thinking of moving to AZ, but i think the summer heat would be too much for me... 2 years we are moving someplace just not sure where yet..

We went to Las Vegas this time last year, oh god, it was so cold.... and other people there were walking around in shorts and short dresses... we had like two pairs of jeans on and sweatshirt, jacket lol and still freezing

OP ... You have kept your cool on this thread. Always try to keep your cool on this forum as there will always be those who test you ... like anywhere in life.

The things said in a thread can NOT be gauged very well because you can't hear the voice inflection or see the body language. And many will say things on here that they would not say face to face.

Again, it just sounds like you had a weird situation that can't be explained in short sentences, without being there in person and experiencing it.

Good luck with your situation, especially the engine.
