how to get rid of this.

ok these things make my truck look like crap....i was wondering if there is a way to clean them or even take them off. what are they??? they are always dirty and i cant get them clean.

 

It is similar to that 3m clearbra stuff to prevent rock chips and things like that. Mine did the same thing and they eventually started to come off so I just pulled them. Also on my truck there were two smaller pieces on the channel by the rear door. Those 2 pieces eventually came off themselves and took some clearcoat with it. I wasn't too happy.

It actually looks like you might have the same thing where the pieces were on the door, but it is hard to tell from the picture.

If your going to take them off wait until a really hot day when they have been in the sun for several hours and they will probably come right off. I just had the clear bra redone on my car and we let it sit out for a couple of hours and that stuff peeled right off and didnt leave any glue on the paint.

try soap and water

 

ive tried it all from soap and water to goof off to lacker thinner

 

Had the same issue on my 05, try a blunt tooth pick around the edges, for me it removed some of it.
I am planning on peeling mine off, and replacing it with the 08/09 version along with other rock protection for that area.

 

If it is cold outside and you have access to a garage, you can heat them up with a hairdryer to make them easier to peel off. I don't have any on my truck in that location. I don't know that is does much good blocking rocks being that it is in front of the rear tire .

 

yea i know i cant figure it out either.....im going to try a heat gun today and see how that works, they get a little hotter than a hair dryer
