Damn I was reading some of that post from TTORA, have any of you guys ever tried putting compressed IN the plate style bumpers or even sliders? That seems like a pretty good idea

People do it all the time in bumpers. Definitely an awesome idea, makes starting off with a piece of rectangular tube sound like a good idea, less welding to enclose it.

exactly. Plus its completely safe. If you get hit hard enough to rupture it it's just going to vent quickly, not explode like some seem to think.

    streetacos.com parts!
The other day I was working and decided to make a list of what it takes to do fabrication, since there are so many people out there that think fab prices are just way too high. Like I always tell my wife....."Well, I'm not building bird houses here!"

Once you get these items you can build your own parts and eliminate outrageous fab prices. I'm sure the list is missing a bunch of stuff I forgot about, but this should get you off to a decent start.

    1) A place to make a bunch of noise
    2) Electricity 110 & 220
    3) Lighting
    4) Material for the project
    5) Vehicle to p/u materials
    6) Fuel for the vehicle
    7) Welder
    8) Welding gas
    9) Welding wire
    10) Welding helmet
    11) Clothing
    12) Gloves
    13) Eye protection
    14) Hearing protection
    15) Vise
    16) Chop Saw
    17) 14" chop saw wheel
    18) Grinder
    19) Cut off wheel
    20) Grinding wheel
    21) Sanding wheel
    22) Center Punch
    23) Extension cord
    24) Hammer
    25) Wire cutters
    26) Table
    27) Fire Extinguisher
    28) Drill press
    29) Drill bits
    30) Hole saws
    31) Hole saw arbor
    32) Cuttng Oil
    33) Band saw
    34) Band saw blades
    35) Towels
    36) Markers
    37) Broom
    38) Fan
    39) Tools for the machines

OK so I was talking about HREW vs DOM pricing and have asked my supplier for an updated quote a few times now. I think I finally confused them enough because they left the HREW price but have the DOM part #'s. I think I will have them get this ready for pickup :D

How much and where did you pick it up from? I need to pick up a chop saw but don't want to cover my garage in dust.
