Keyless Entry + Alarm question

Ok, so I have a base 07 tacoma, so i don't have keyless entry or anything... So I was wondering if there are any kits that i could get so i can get keyless entry + an alarm, I'm really tired of walking away from my truck only to remember i didn't lock it.... any suggestions?

Oh damn man lol, i didnt even see it lol... your lucky though, you at least have the keyless, i just have the key, it gets annoying sometimes lol.... Sorry about that though, honestly didn't see your thread

 

it’s fin. i was just telling you. lol and yeah i guess. but i want remote start to for when it’s cold or their is ice on my windows.
edit: was just going to get remote start till i found out i don’t have alarm at all. so mide as well got both.

not to bad really. to me at least! i like the cold. i’m in TN so we don’t get all that much snow. but i like a warm truck. and clear windows. lol

 

i can understand that lol, the few cold days we get down here, I'm screwed, my windows stay fogged for like 20 minutes, and its freezing in the truck

 

bump, so no one has put in keyless entry into their tacoma?

 

not being an ass. but why not just get an alarm? you could get factory alarm at least probably not to much more then just keyless entry. and it will protect what stuff you have in side more.




and you’r windows get frost on them down their? lol whats cold to you 60*?

 

lol every once in a while we'll get 30-35 degree days, like 5 a year but I'd like to have keyless entry first...I don't have that, I don't think i even have the motors on the locks for it, so i was trying to see if some people have found an easy install kit that could give me that electric locking capability so then i could by a nice Viper keyless entry + security

 

anyone? lol

 

Look at the viper 5704 or 5901 both great systems remote start,keyless entry,alarm. I have the 5704 and love it works great.

Id love to get that, but on top of that i need a kit that has the motors for the door locks, my truck is the base tacoma so i don't think it has them in there ready to go, wish it did though

 

I believe any car alarm would have the option to do auto locks, you would just have to purchase the solenoids for each door.

Swing by any car audio shop, Best Buy, whatever and ask them.

 

Yeah the solenoids are kind of a pain in the ass, you have to put brackets in to position them so they're pushing/pulling on the lock arm the right way. Not a big deal if you're going to have a shop install it, but if you're doing it yourself just be prepared to cut/drill and spend a lot of time adjusting it to get it right.
