I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
Mine is horizontal and it works fine I did have to add more oil for it to work. I think im going to just set up full electric hydro for the speed and the return. It kinda sucks closing the HF ram when its cold out and your only doing a few bends.

not sure yet... i used it last night and was blown away. i cut a 1 3/4 .120 wall d.o.m. in 4-5 seconds where it used to be 20-40 seconds. the best part was grabbing the tube and it was ice cold

That's why I love my vertical bender, got some big ole springs on it to return. not to mention being able to move it around since it doesn't have to be mounted to the floor.

Here is a place from California that carries DOM tubing or (Drawn over Mandrel) another name for it, it is called McMaster Carr. If you call them They can sometimes get you other stuff that might not be listed on there site. I use them a lot for Our Winery for just about anything you need.
    http://www.mcmaster.com/#dom-(drawn-over-mandrel)-tubing/=g3e9d2

Oh by the way Great site of useful info. I am just in the works of getting ones of these little units for my metal projects. Thermal Dynamics PAK 52.
Got it for $1567.00 from Cyberweld. free shipping.

Cyberweld is where my parents got their Miller mig welder. They were very happy with their service.

Ya they seem to be hard to beat. I tried to stay local with my purchase and even account for shipping and sales tax but no one could beat them. Great service too. So what size of Miller did you get?

The 190 will serve you well.
I'm a little jelly too. I have the older Hobart 180. All my gripes with the 180 they fixed with the 190.
Did you pick a gas tank too?

Any recommendations on a decent welding helmet that won't break the bank?

Thanks for the tip. Gotta love HF.

By the way... put the rear leaf pack in today. Going to need longer shocks. The kings don't let them droop enough.

I would never use a harbor freight helmet again after using a nice helmet. I good helmet is worth every penny. If you want a basic market that is not an auto darken, lowes sells a Lincoln helmet that is pretty nice that has a huge viewing lens for around 35 bucks. Works pretty well. The Miller auto darken are nice as well. But are kinda pricey. The prostar helmets from Praxair are pretty nice for the money.

^^^ exactly what he said! if your wanting to save money then go with a solid shade hood! HF auto dark hoods are crap and you only have one pair of eyes. the HF hoods flash the shit outta you, burn your eyes, and dont hold a charge for shit. if your not investing in a good auto shade, then pick up a good solid shade for around 40 bucks. your eyes and you can do what you want... but i refuse to trust my eyes to china made shit like the HF hood.

I already have a tank, wire, etc from my old welder. It was a Miller from the 70's and time to retire it

I should also mention, that if you have a normal job these items will get you buy for a while, however, if you fabricate for a living, you'll most likely need about half this list again next week.
