I called PSA and told them about my issue. They shipped out the parts same day...

No offense but a Delton under a DD Lite Rail is like a fat girl in the little black dress.
For similar money you should be able to find a higher quality upper. Everything else looks good.

    Maybe one of the PSA's
    or http://www.joeboboutfitters.com/Spike_s_Tactical_16_Midlength_LE_Upper_5_56_STU_p/sp-stu5035-mls.htm

I believe that both of the above come with the BCG and CH. Many "complete" uppers don't.
Spikes also has a 16" Middy with the Spikes rail at JoeBob.

Its different for sure, I like mine :)

With a vertical grip, I end up cradling my hand in the corner between the rail and the grip. The AFG lets me do pretty much the same thing. I'm a lefty so my support hand thumb is in the right spot to hit the light switch with my hand on the AFG.

We'll see. DT is making a concerted effort to impove their quality. It's a chrome lined barrel with the twist I want, and all their stuff is apparently properly tested now. An upper receiver is an upper receiver, so as long as the BCG and barrel look good I'll give it a shot. if not, I'll return it.

Looks like a good deal on the Spike's! I need to look into their barrels. If I can get a pinned govt contour midlength I might use that for the build.

yea noveskee is $$ but if its your first rifle the colt would be your best bet I think. Its cheaper, its made to spec, and you can spend the rest on ammo, mags, and targets

That noveskee is 1423 and then i can get the leo discount so it won't be that bad. i would rather get the best once and not have to look back.

Which aimpoint do you recommend. I have not done my research yet on optics yet.

    H1 or PRO

The H1 is very compact and from the Daniel defense torture test vid it held up very well!
The PRO is a little bigger and I'm sure it's just as good.
I have the compM4 but I got a really good deal on a slightly used one

Don't forget EOTechs...I love the new ones with the transverse battery. I think they're better than the Aimpoint except that the Aimpoint still has a huge advantage in battery life. The ability to just leaver your aimpoint on and change the battery every year or two is a huge plus.

ETA: I also don't know why Trijicon hasn't done a 1x ACOG. Would be simpler without the magnification so hopefully they could price them around $400-$500. I'd buy one in a heartbeat. I guess they're too busy filling military contracts to worry about new models.

They do have a new red dot and it is dual powered, both battery and solar panel powered. Looks promising and is supposed to priced around the price of a CompM4S. http://www.trijicon.com/na_en/products/product1.php?id=SRS

As far as EOTech, I will run one when they stop putting chinee parts in them. Which also might explain that some departments are having a close to 50% failure rate with them. Don't ask for a link because this is from the chief's mouth.
