    Hey All,

I have a 09 DBL TRD Sport and the rear seats and back window have the privacy glass. I would like to tint the drivers side and passengers side also. I wouldn't do this myself because I have never seen a quality self tint job (bubles - all types) done. My conceren is that the two tits (opps!) I mean tints wouldn't match leaving my new truck looking stupid.

Anyone have any advice in this area?

    Thanks!

just tell the shop to match the fronts to the rears. I think it is 20%-30%: heres mine and it is perfect

it will cost you around $50 to have the front windows done. The tint master will match it very close, keep in mind that front tint will look a bit lighter because more light comes thru the windshield.

it doesn't look too bad. It is only real noticeable if you are looking inside-out, and outside-in at some angles w/ some sunlight check out my pics

from the outside the windows will look the same but the inside the windows will look slightly different because the factory windows are tinted when making the glass i believe and the aftermarket is just a film you put over it, correct me if im wrong anyone. i went to a place to have my front windows match the back and they look great from my point of view.

i tint windows for a living.. the privacy glass percent is approx 20%

nothing is going to be a perfect match but it will be close enough that you cant tell. here in missouri, 35% is the legal limit and that what i put on my so i can show customers the difference in %'s.

but if it wasnt for that.. i would do 20% so it all looks the same.

Thanks for the fast replies. All pictures look as good as I had hoped. It sure does look extra sharp with the tint all around. You think it will only cost about 50 sheets?

I just called my local tint man and he said no problem. BUT! he had to let me know that if it matched I would be in violation and possible not pass inpection and may even get a ticket - 35% here in MA. I think it looks awesome but i'm not sure I want to chance it. With my luck i will be driving home after a few beers (I know I know...)and get pulled over for tint and get a freaking DUI. I think about this shit....

i did 17% all round( front and back) and i love it not too dark but im thinking i should of done 5% in the back and 17% on the front doors if i did it again
but im happy of the look it is now you cant really see inside unless you stick your face to the glass and driving at night is amazing you can see everything fine
it really helps to keep those hid bulbs from blinding you in the mirror

I had my '01 done to match the back and never had a problem with cops. Just did my '09 to match as well. Tint matches from the outside but the factory tint looks a little lighter from the inside. It's kind of like the difference between driving sunglass lenses and regular tinted sunglass lenses. You know how the driving lenses make things seem crisper and clearer. The rear windows are like the driving lenses while the front look like just regular tint. I'm good with it as long as it looks the same from the outside. I wondering if they make a tint film that is like driving lenses? Is that the same as polarized lenses or is that something different?

Had my 05 dbl cab done as well, I like it and worth the risk for me but in MD we only have to get our vehicle's inspected when we buy them.

You should think about "this shit"-Nuf said.

Your tint guy prolly is the best place to go. You can look at the tint flims and what not. Good luck.

Yeah this law is very true! Bunch of my buddies are cops. I would get it done but I get mad when other people have their front windows tinted and can't see someone if they are waving or not so why should I do that as well!

    Stock. Purchased 2/17/19. Cement!
I left the rear as is and had the front slightly tinted to make them as close to the back without going over. Here's the result. I like, except when my seatbelt hits the window and makes a nick on the film.
