So I called Toytec to ask what the coilovers were set at. Jeff said 0.85, which gives me the full 3in. So now I'm a little confused because I thought the adjustment options were 0.85, 1.5, 2.5, and 3" or something like that???

Can someone help me clarify this (the 5100 shocks are not the fully adjustable ones)... Also, do you think I need to install the rear axle degree shims?.... Seems like no big deal, but I dont want any vibrations later down the road.

Toytec advised I install the front diff. drop. What do you guys think?

Assuming you are getting 5100s and Eibach coils. The 5100s are fully adjustable, but since the Eibach coils are already stiffer and taller than the stock coils, setting the 5100s at .85 will provide just shy of 3".

I dont know what you're doing for your rear suspension, but don't bother with axle shims until you have a vibration problem. Same goes for the diff drop. Wait and see what your CV anlges will be at, after the front suspenion settles in a bit.

I think you left out some information. What kit did you buy from Toytec? They make 2 kits with the 5100's and Eibachs. One will put you right at 3", the other one a little under. Could you put up a link to the kit you actually purchased?

I'd leave the differential drop out, it doesn't actually 'drop' the differential, it rotates it. You can always go back and install it later if you feel you need it.

What are you doing for a rear lift? Unless you're going over 2" of lift for the rear, you shouldn't need shims.

    x2 ^...u must of gotten the coilovers....which are preset to a 3" gain...85 on billies + Eibach coils + toytec's billet top plate spacer= 3"

the only other way is their other kit which I believe is 630.00 comes with coils and 5100's and u can buy the tp15 top plate spacers which would give u the full 3"'s

the main difference is the regular top plate spacer vs a new billet one...you also get axle shims with the coilover kit which is around 899.00

This is the lift I purchased: I'm putting AAL in the rear, so it'll be 2".

So I will probably leave the front diff drop out for now, but I figured that while I have the rear apart I might as well put the axle shims in????

You guys really don't think I need them if I'm at 2"?

Do you have the TSB rear leaf pack? (Count the # of leafs, 3 + overload = TSB leaf pack, 2 + Overload = non-TSB leaf pack). If you have the TSB leaf pack plus the 2" AAL, you're probably pretty close to where shims wouldn't be a bad idea although not a requirement. Non-TSB pack + 2" AAL you could honestly go either way but would probably be fine without them. I'm running 2" of lift on a TSB leaf pack and do not have shims on mine.

As far as your first question... the 5100's have 4 settings; 0, .85, 1.75 and 2.5" of lift when used with STOCK coils. The set-up you purchased comes preassembled with a taller, stiffer lift coil. The 5100's will be pre-set to .85 and come with a thicker top plate so you'll sit at 3" of lift once installed.

Side note, I hope you have aftermarket UCA's for alignment purposes.

No UCA's yet.... hoping it won't be huge deal.

I have the non-TSB leaf pack.

Is there a left and right to coilovers and rear shocks with the lift kit.

Your alignment might be a little jacked but drive for a bit and see. I think you should at least plan for them, you're probably going to want them sooner rather than later.

The OEM are side specific, the Toytec ones are not but you have to use the top plate on the driver's side to offset the Taco lean. Rear shocks are not side specific.

My coilovers are already assembled, so what top plate are you referring to?

Do I need to order an additional spacer to account for the drivers side lean?
If so, that means I need to disassemble my coilovers to put the spacer on, correct? It doesn't seem worth it now, if its only for aesthetics

Also, what should I torque my coilovers to?
What should I torque my sway bars to, since I also have to remove them?

    Thanks guys!

Yes your coilovers are assembled alreadyand the "billet top plate spacer" is already in place..your set up comes preset to the .85 setting so if you dont want 3"'s you will need to set the coilover (5100) to the 0 setting and you will probably get between 2.25 and 2.5' of lift...that system only has 2 settings so make sure u adjust before install..this is a different set-up from the adjustable wrench type...hope this helps

The 1/4" top plate spacer just sits on top of the coil assembly, no need to disassemble the coils to put it in. I don't remember the torque specs, but you could give a quick search through the 2nd Gen DIY or Mods and Tutorials section. I used the thread 'BJ Moose Installs a Full OME Kit' for reference. (search for member BJMoose, and look at the threads he has created)

    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/su...talls-full-ome-kit-rear-brake-lines-pics.html

The set the OP ordered is preassembled. He'd need a spring compressor to get them apart to set them back down to 0.
