Too many armchair Sherlocks on this thread.

Look, guys, we all like to feel smart, it's natural.

But I swear some of you guys are treating this like some Nancy Drew mystery.

The first choice is to "armchair mechanic" the problems folks bring to the board, but since the poster didn't give enough facts to make that promising, many seem to have piled onto the "smells fishy; more to this story than meets the eye" bandwagon.

Sometimes the best thing to be said is simply: "That sucks. Hope everything works out. If any specific questions come up, feel free to ask."

And where I live 90 isn't all that bad. It's the 115 days when you're like FUUUUU SUN! And I don't exactly have the same options as Jasmine...

Of course you have the same option as Jasmine. Most people keep that to themselves.

Did you get the compression numbers from the dealership? I would absolutely NOT accept the truck back without knowing the compression numbers.

Maybe the fact the engine DID turn off, and didn't run on after you shut the ignition off was an indicator that it never got to that "fatal" point. I hope your engine is alright, if it sounds good, then it probably is good.
