Thanks. I appreciate that. I have requested to become a vender twice now. & have got very little responce back from those in charge of that area. They say there is a long list of people or companies wanting to become venders. So i have been trying. For about the last 20 years me & my partner have been fabricating everything from roof racks to rock rails to bumpers, tire carriers winchbumpers wichplates etc. Etc. This tacoma mount has been in my head for the last two years. Then finally put to paper, then transferred to steel. Then revised not once, not twice, but you guessed it 3rd time was a charm .Back in the day when iwas about 17 years old i finally got my bad ass 72 bronco burried i n the river.and everyone i knew with a 4x4 tried coming to the rescue. Needless to say none of them could even get to where i was without getting stuck themselves. So for 3day &2nights i was stuck there. Until aguy i knew his coworker had a comalong off of a railcar. & thats how we finally got it out. Since then every 4x4 ive owned since that old Bronco has had a winch on it. Hope i didnt bore you with my short story.

I posted this on the 2nd gen tacoma section. But i wanted to make sure you guys got this. So i promised you some video of the undercoverhwms in action. But i wasnt able to get to any trails due to time restraints & recent flooding & hwy & interstate closings. So i compromised & used an old maple tree in my backyard. Its only 30sec of video. But it will give you an idea of the structural integrity of our winchmount. Its on youtube. Titled undercoverhwms.com

Its funny you should ask. My partner just said not even two days ago that the tacoma & 4th gen. 4runner look so similar. We should see what it would take to make awinch mount for one. So we are gonna put that one on the back burner for now. Maybe this winter some time. Because the FJ cruiser winch mount is in the works as we speak. & we think there would be more people interested in it as of right now. Not to mention we have a couple of Fjs we can use to fab off of. So ya never know, maybe later. Thanks

Yeah, the tacoma and 4runner are very much alike. The 4runner has a slightly differen't mount though with it being slightly larger and having 4 bolts per side

Cool. Good to know. I dont know any one that has a 4th gen 4runner to actually fab off of. A friend of mine has worked for alot of car dealerships in his day. He told me today he could probably get us one for a week or so when we are ready to fab one up. But will see. Right now we are concentrating on fabbing & selling the tacoma mounts & maybe some bolt on accesories like the lightbars. That go with the mount. & We need to finish up this Fj mount. Ive had quite a few E mails requesting that they want one & they want em ASAP. Lol. We want to keep everyone happy.& i personally have a new Fj & a new warn vr8000lb winch sittin in the box just waitin to get put on that Fj. So we are going to get her done real soon . Nice talkin to ya. That cummins setup you got sounds pretty cool. Too bad Toyota would just bring the hilux into the U.S. then we could buy a new one with a turbo diesel. That would be the shit. But those damn tree huggers. It probably wont ever happen cause of emmisions. I'll talk to ya later. Take care

    Thanks in advance!

Im not sure if your avid lightbar will work with our mount. However we have a couple different lightbars for sale that are actually pretty cool & very strong. Just short of being a bullbar. We can customize the colors, lightabs etc. Send me an email with your email adress & i will show you some of our latest ones. We havent had a chance to get em on the website yet. Thanks

If you don't draw blood, you're doing it wrong!
I love your innovative and effective design, and I hope to purchase one of your mounts soon (so many mods, so little money). I have to ask though, why would you say the Smitty XRC8 won't fit. You posted specific dimensions on your website to determine which winches will work, and the XRC-8 definitely fits the specs you list. I'm frugal, and while I love the Warn models, I just can't justify spending an extra $300-$400 for a brand-name, when the XRC-8 has proven to be trustworthy many times. Are you just biased towards Warn? It seems that you would want to market a product that could accommodate more than 1 brand of winch.

Based on the specs below (taken from the manufacturers' websites) the XRC-8 is slightly smaller than the M8000 that you used.

    Warn M8000/M8000-s

    Winch Dimensions: 21.04" L x 6.3" D x 7.6" H (534mm L x 160m D x 193mm H)
    Mounting Bolt Pattern:
    10.0" x 4.5" (254mm x 114.3mm)

    Warn VR8000/VR8000-s

    Winch Dimensions: 20.80" L x 6.3" D x 6.97" H (528mm L x 160mm D x 177mm H)
    Mounting Bolt Pattern:
    10.0" x 4.5" (254mm x 114.3mm)

    Smittybilt XRC-8/XRC-8 Comp
    Overall Dimension: 21" L x 6.22" D x 7.283" H (558.8mm L x 158mm D x 185mm H)
*I just realized the XRC-8 may be slightly longer. 558.8mm is closer to 22", not 21" as they listed.
    Mounting bolt pattern: 10" x 4.5" (4 bolts, 3/8") (254 mm x 114.3 mm)

    Max Specs from your website

For use with 8000lb non-integrated solenoid winches with the dimensions below.
    *No larger than: 21.04”L x 6.3”D x 7.6”H
    Mounting hole pattern: 10” x 4.5”

Not trying to be a dick, just looking for some clarification. Again, I will most likely be buying your mount regardless, but if I HAVE to get a Warn, it will be quite a while before I can afford the "total package".

That's what it comes down to for me too. Looks like a great product and I think that if it was available/compatible with the XRC it would promote better sales. And can we get some more pictures? I actually checked the website and only saw the following picture...that's it.

Who would be up for a group buy on these? OP said if we get it organized he would be down. I'll start a list. Ben, I'm assuming you'd be in considering you're already planning to purchase?
