2012 tacoma 2.7l need help

Im new to the sight and im looking to build my tacoma i just installed my 3in lift kit and im wanting to get tires probably 285/70/r17s I want to put a cold air intake on it but i cant seem to find one and possibly down the road a supercharger but cant seem to find one of those either also anything else that you all think i should do to my truck please help me open to all suggestions thanks have a good day

I am also looking for a supercharger for my 08, I dont want a turbo so I guess urd is out of the picture. Is the trd the only one?

 

sell it and buy a 6 cyl and be done with it, the money u will put into a 4 banger and will never reach a stock 6 cyl. hp, if u bought a 4 cyl brand new why did u not buy a six ?

 

regular cabs don't have the V6 as an option, not matter what trim level.

and for those of us like the OP, who like a REAL truck with two doors, the 2TR-FE 4 Cyl is the only option.

 

Ya you might want to double check the URD site...it is a supercharger not turbo.

 

x2 and TRD doesn't make a supercharger.

alpine and URD make superchargers, but the Alpine kit was converted from a hilux application so its fit isnt the best.

Have to agree. But fact is that if you just want a single cab, then the 4 banger is your only option. And for the record, the 4 banger WITH the URD blower will put more power to the ground than a stock V6 will..

 

don't be salty cuz you have a suv with a mini bed.

historically trucks have been two door, single cab trucks; only within the past decade has this breed of half truck/half car been (the doublecab truck) become popular.

 

forget about cold air intakes they are a complete waste on our 2.7ltr engines. Christian hit the nail on the head-just remove the secondary filter and replace the primary with a afe pro dry. If you could find a supercharger it would be way to costly. save you money and buy a header and regear to 4.56's and you will feel a good torque increase.

 

But if you do a lot of highway driving, overgearing will lower mpg

 

When I went from stock wheels and tires to BF Goodrich KM2's (265 75 16) my gas milage went down to 17mpg. After I re-geared I actually gained 1mpg . My gas milage is a hair over 18mpg on long highway trips at an average speed of 75mph. The torque gained (ie: off roading,going up hills and off the line) was well worth it IMHO. Note: my initial milage was about 21mpg before adding 350lbs of armor and adding the km2's

 

I've been thinking about getting 4:56s.. Whats the usual damage cost wise?

 

I ordered everything from ECG (complete front diff and rear gears and bearings) with labor the whole setup cost me about $1700. I edited my intial post about gas milage. I forgot that my mpg's went down from 21 to 17 after I added about 350lbs of armor and 265's KM2's so after my re-gear I actually gained 1mpg back
