U-bolt length ok???

    Color Match Grille, Bed mat, Kings with JBA UCA's, Dakars and 34" BFG KM3, Snugtop Canopy, and my "Marshall Fabrication" Rock Sliders.
    I just installed a 3* shim with my or ready 2" AAL and I used the stock ubolts. Now I only have about 1/4" of threads showing.. Is this ok and safe, or should there be more? I torqued them all to about 80-85 ft. lbs.

    thanks for any advise! :rolleyes:

    Rule of thumb is 3-4 threads exposed.

    I'd be more worried about reusing the U-bolts than exposed thread lengths, though.

    They are a "torque to Yield" bolt. (IIRC) They arent designed to be torqued multiple times, and re used.

    Most all off road shops carry a good supply. Many Auto Parts stores keep them in stock too. Looking at the pics, you need new ones.

    For a 2" aal and ome shocks on the way. Asked toytec the same question. I've got a 2011 dc and Dylan told me I would not need new bolts. I'm still worried about the length though.
