BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
I know. I would be awesome to have a nice AMX style hood on my truck. I've decided I don't want the stock scooped hood because....everyone has one. If it looks good I think people would buy it. I'd be happy with fiberglass, too. It doesn't have to be carbon fiber.

I'm leaning towards the GN style scoop since it's available in fiberglass, fairly common and doesn't hold snow and ice in the winter.

    hmmm :der:

Fiberglass would be cheaper, but probably overall more expensive for people since they would have to get it painted-- plus getting the paint to match perfectly is near impossible.

Nonetheless, I think it would look great either way!

I painted mine for about 6 bucks. :notsure: why you would spent so much just for carbon fiber. Just my 2¢

    See my build page!
I actually have the first or at least one of the first CF scoops on this forum! I paid someone to wrap my original in real cf. It cost almos the same price as this, but went with it to be unique!

Check out my build thread for pics!

I'm open to suggestions about what people want to be made...carbon fiber or fiberglass

Yes the carbon twill and a quality UV capable resin system can get expensive.

This is one reason why so many other carbon parts are a ply or two of Carbon and the rest fiberglass.

I'm too lazy but should make molds for a composite non scooped hood for the 4x4 guys. I'd also like to make molds for the oem fenders.

Rather than use carbon, make the parts from Kevlar since the stiffness is less critical and they wouldn't crack as easily or worry about door dings.

I'd also like to build a worthy but light composite tailgate, the oem one is just not up to any real work.

If it is 100% carbon fiber and not just carbon fiber laid over fiberglass then the price for 10 is not bad for a custom piece. If it is carbon fibre over fiberglass then the price is way way too high. As stated in a previous post you can buy a whole carbon fiber over fiberglass hood for about $600.00
