Good luck - you'll be fine. Gas will cheaper once you leave Kalifornia.;)
I sure would like to know how to get a set of those TRD wheels without selling a kidney!

Mine does fine pulling my 21' TT (approx 3900lbs loaded) with WD hitch, anti-sway bar and trailer brakes. You definitely know it's back there on an uphill grade and at the gas station. A lot of people complain about the gas mileage when towing - but in my case, my truck is 99% daily driver and capable of consistent 18-19mpg in mixed driving. If I have to put up with 10-11mpg only 1% of the time in the same vehicle I drive to work every day, then that's a pretty versatile vehicle IMHO.

Thanks, I will be keeping the guys on here posted on my travel and the performance of the truck. I guess I got lucky with the wheels by getting the T|X Pro package.

I tow this around, on two lane, flat, 55mph speed limit roads. The farthest I go is a campground 75 miles away. I very seldom have to shift it out of fourth. I average roughly 14mpg when towing. It is equipped with a load leveling hitch, and trailer sway control. I also run five spring leafs in the back and load range "E" tires @ 60 psi.

I don't, nor would I recommend towing this much in hilly terrain, or interstate highways.

While in some cases I would like a Tundra after having towed my trailer from California to Texas via Durango Colorado, I was pleasantly surprised at how well my 05 DC handled everything. A little slow at times but never let me down or even gave me the hint of letting me down.

'09 tacoma with my '04 US cargo 6x10 work trailer. I build/install custom woodwork and my old 96 Ford van wore out so to save money I was looking for an enclosed utility trailer with electric brakes that I could pull with my Tacoma. I stumbled across this one over the summer, a great deal for $1000. The frame was rusted so I cleaned that up and painted it, now the sides just needs some lettering and a new set of wheels to replace the rusted out old ones. For a 4 cylinder automatic the Tacoma pulls it pretty well when it's loaded, I just ordered new rear shocks and I think I'm going to add supersprings or something to help with the sag.

If you want to help it ride better when loaded and get rid of that sag you should look at some air bags. I added Firestone's to mine and it has made a world of difference when towing. The truck handles better and the ride is a lot better.

I have been helping a couple at church clean up an estate they were named executors of. The property is in the middle of the vineyards and wineries east of Lodi, Ca and the guy had a cool little 1.5 acre piece of property with a beautiful 3BR 2BA house with a shop, barn, and orchard. The owners were sick these past few years and the wife passed this last October and he has now been moved into an awesome retirement community and he loves it. The executors are gutting the house; new paint, hardwood floors, carpet, and tile. I have been doing all the demolition work and grounds maintenance. In the last three weeks I have hauled over 20 loads with this little trailer and I still have another 4 or 5 to go; not including all of the branches from pruning the fruit and nut trees (that would be another dozen loads, but we will just burn most of that). Anyways, my wife and I might end up leasing/buying the house and it's been nice to know that the work has been done correctly. My Tacoma and this little trailer have made my life so much easier in the last few weeks. Hydraulic dump FTW!

That is pretty sweet getting to do the cleanup on a place like that. Also, mind hooking a guy up with that dump trailer for a couple months? lol
