I'am running a similar setup minus the TB spacer. I have the TRD S/C, AFE Intake,URD Fuel Pump,URD Y-Pipe,JBA Shorties,Magnaflow Catback Single Outlet. And I'm only putting down 281hp 318ftlbs to the wheels. Those numbers seem alittle high to me also.

Though his numbers seem a little high to all of us, your numbers seem a bit low to me with all the mods you have.

Toyota rates the supercharger at 304hp and 336ft/lbs of torque at the flywheel. If the OP's numbers at the wheels are correct then even if you factor in only 5% parasitic loss through the drivetrain that means he's making roughly 358hp at the flywheel. So this means that the exhaust and intake and TB spacer can net you a gain of 50+ HP.....

The exhaust he is running is about the best design for an SC'd application. BUT, alot also depends on his baseline and dyno calibration/correction.

Some dyno's are set to convert rear hp/torque to estimated crank HP. That could also be a factor in the OP's results.

I'd be more apt believe the numbers are at the crank then the wheels. But I will wait for the OP to chime in with a dyno sheet and the correction factors. :playball:

Sub'd... Interested to find out if this is to the crank or wheels.

Your AFR looks awful. You're running super rich up top. You should be leveling out around the 11.2:1 mark instead of continuing to drop. By redline, it looks like your almost at 9.5:1. Absolutely no reason you should be running that rich up top. You're numbers are definitely being brought down by this. Are you using an OTS map or did someone actually tune your truck (e.g., dyno pull, make tuning adjustments, dyno pull, make tuning adjustments, etc., etc., etc.). I would see about getting it retuned where you can have multiple dyno pulls to get your AFR spot on (higher AFR with small margin for knock prevention = sweet spot!).

To OP, great looking dyno plot! It looks like the torque comes on strong and holds steady throughout the rpm range! Also, nice looking install (and truck). I'll bet that's quite the fun tacoma!

OP's dyno is CLEARLY a graph of flywheel horsepower and not WHP. If it was WHP he'd be making 400 at the flywheel assuming a 15% drivetrain loss which I think is a decent estimate. That being said, there's absolutely NO way he's making 400 at the crank, none, zilch..../discussion

(if he is I'll be buying a SC tomorrow)

Brent's dyno does seem a bit low. I've read numerous threads stating that Mustang dyno's typically read a bit lower than most. That might be part of the issue. I agree the other issue is likely AFR.

    Not methane, methanol. haha

Anyway, good run. Respectable numbers for just bolt on a tune.

I agree, the whp numbers are probably converted into bhp (I've seen a lot of shops do this... personal shop preference I guess).

Mustang dyno's do tend to be a tad bit on the lower end of the spectrum.

People also need to keep in mind that comparing one person's dyno numbers to another person's numbers is like comparing a Yellow lab, to a Boxer. They're both dogs, but that's about where the similarities end.

Dyno numbers for the exact same vehicle can fluctuate day-by-day. Factors like temperature (a big one!), humidity, barometric pressure, and standard correction coefficients can cause dyno numbers to swing all over the place.

A dyno is just a tool to help dial in a safe AFR, and get timing set to where it's supposed to be. It's when you take it off the dyno that really matters! :D

I asked earlier in the thread and he says that the numbers are to the wheel, but I don't believe it!

Mustang Dynos are known to be heartbreakers. Thus the low numbers.

I'm running just the factory re-flash for now. I have a Unichips PNP but it made the truck go way lean. So hopefully with my tax return I can get a rental tuner kit and take it to the dyno shop and have them dial in the unichips. And if this dont work I will wait for the uconn to come out for the 09+.

Well technically, the numbers were taken at the wheels, as compared to pulling the engine and putting it on an actual engine dyno. Maybe there is some confusion as to what the end result is representing?!?!?

OP, did the shop give you an actual hardcopy print out of your runs? I'd be really interested to see the AFR plot, and what their correction factor numbers were.

Again, awesome build and congrats on the newfound power! Enjoy it man, I wish I was in your shoes (or seat!)!

Sounds good man! A good tune is definitely worth the extra money and makes night and day difference in performance. Looks like you have a great torque curve too. I'll bet your truck is awesome from a dig!

When the time comes, definitely make a thread and keep us posted on your tuning experiences too :)
