Honestly, reception is probably about the same. I tried to listen to the radio before i swapped the stock one for this one, and I couldn't really tell much of a difference. I don't normally listen to the radio often because my receiver has iPod connectivity.

I didnt want to put a perminient cb clip mount to my dash so what i did was used my gf's old cell phone vent holder that way when im not using my cb radio i can remove the clip, since i only use my cb radio when im on the trails with my fellow tacomworld members.

Changed my spark plugs last night, still can't find the PCV valve... Forgot to plug the MAF sensor back in, tripped the check engine light, got it reset, then put some new gas shocks on my rear camper top window... What a weekend...

After about 1.5 hours of searching through Gas Lifts (shocks) for a Leer 100XQ Camper Shell, I found one that fits at O'Reilly Auto Parts... And with a lifetime warranty to boot...

    Product Link: http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detail/SAC1/SG359011.oap?ck=Search_sg359011_-1_-1&keyword=sg359011
    Model #SAC SG359011 @ $15.99/each
    UPC #708609078221

Hopefully this will help someone else that is searching the web and can't find one... The one that came off of it was a SUSPA C16-20195. And only a Leer dealer can order them, takes 1-2 weeks... The replacements are a tiny bit longer, but work great!

Also, for the silver part of the antenna base, would it be as simple as taping it off and covering the area with newspaper and rattle canning?

How difficult would it be to just take apart the whole assembly and paint the piece that way?

Picked up a new to me 33x10.50 BFG AT that only had about 20 miles on it for $60. Using it as my spare to replace my factory spare.

Then I went to my buddies shop to use his plasma cutter and got my rear frame plates cut out.

My hinge showed up today too so I have all the parts for my swing out tire carrier.
