    Oh ... I wouldn't go for Houston...not exactly sure where. More than likely (if my plans work out) it would be based on the "nice place to live reasonable driving distance to visit kids" factor, and not dependant on a particular job...God Willing. :)

    LIttle Boat is good! I'm kidding you anyway...but I do like saltwater fishing .... charters are the way to go with that...let someone else pay for the big boat/upkeep/etc. Not worth the money or work unless you can spend every day out on them. IMHO

    Yeah. The little boats dont cost near as much. Last year, the only costs I had for my boat were gas, and oil. In fact......other than a $30 anual registration fee, thats all the cost I have had for the last few years.

    We get by with a 14 foot Zodiac/25HP Yamaha (buddy and I went in on it together). Occasional Halibut charter; but we've even figured where to go with the Zodiac to catch Halibut.

    I've got a couple friends who will take us out if we cover the fuel costs...that's in the neighborhood of $300-$500 usually...split by 3 to 5 people it's pretty reasonable. But of course, they have LOTS of friends willing to cover the gas ... so getting a date scheduled is difficult ... compounded by 4 months of available fishing weather. :rolleyes:
