Finally got my new 2012 DC 4X4 SR5 only color I really liked was black so thats what I got. So far fairly impressed with it. Really like the interior with the white gauges instead of the red. Built in bluetooth and steering wheel controls are awesome. Plenty of room in the back for the kids and so far with the first tank I got 20.2mpg. I have put on a 1.5" spacer on the front to level it and new tires from Americas tire the cooper AT and went up a tire size to a 265/75/16 so expect to see a little drop in mileage but nothing severe the ultragauge really helps with keeping track of that. The rims are raceline can't remember exactly what they were called might change them don't know if I like the all black look yet but I will give it some time. So got some pics to upload see what everybody thinks.

Great looking truck. Congrats on the new purchase!

Do you happen to know if the seats on the 2012's are the same as the 2009-2011 TRD/Sport seats (i.e., same firmness, side bolster, etc.)?

@kogary nope don't know had an 05 before this so that is all I have to compare it to. I do know it beats the heck out of that 05 though.

    Right on!

Did you have an '05 TRD/Sport or the SR5/Base? Reason I'm asking is because I have an '05 SR5 and am interested in upgrading to the TRD/Sport seats (which I understand are a bit firmer).

I had an 05 SR5 so yes the 12 is much firmer also I forgot to mention the rearview mirror in the 12 has the temp and compass and homelink in it which for me was a real deal maker I actually bought an aftermarket mirror for the 05 that had all that so the only upgrade I actually planned on doing was the leveling and wheels and tires but I think I am going to change out the rims with something different the all black just doesn't do it for me.

You go much over 1.5" and you need UCA's to get the caster back in spec. The 05 I had I did the 2.5 Billys in the front and an add a leaf in the rear and the caster had a good spread but is was at .5 positive on one side and 1.0 positive on the other the spec says for it to be at least a 1.4 positive so it drove ok but it was really darty if that makes sense with the 1.5" my buddy that works at schwab was able to get it in spec and it drives like factory. If I was going to go much higher I would plan on UCA's just don't want to dump that much into it yet until it is paid for hopefully by the end of the summer.

So all you guys with black do you think it is any harder to take care of than any other color all I get from people is grief about how hard it is to take care of but they all say they love it. Then they say in the same sentence that they would never own another black car or truck. This is my first black truck or car so now it makes me wonder if it was a good idea, but it sho does look sweet all cleaned up.
