Some hoodlum tagged my wife's Rav4 yesterday while she was at work. My wife is a 1st grade teacher and the faculty parks in a lot behind a 8 foot chain link fence in the front of the school, but the lot backs up to one of the canals that run through the city. The high school kids from down the road like to walk down the canal and jump through the teacher lot as a short cut to get to the residential areas. One of these promising American youths, jumped the fence and randomly tagged my wife's car. Acetone removed the bulk of the marker, but left a gray streak and haze. A little rubbing compound took the rest of the marker out, and I finished the rest of the car today with a full wash and wax.

LONG STORY SHORT: REMOVE PERMANENT MARKER W/ RUBBING COMPOUND

Sucks about your wife's car. At least you were able to get it out. Better than getting keyed!

I was pretty hot when she got home, but felt much better after we cleaned it up. The school is going to review all the security tapes to see if they caught the kid. JUSTICE WILL BE SERVED!

    Teenagers suck nowadays.

I'm glad my parents raised me the way I am. I couldn't stand being in high school with a bunch of undisciplined kids. College is so much better, lol.

Acetone works but it also might damage the clear coat.

FYI my friend sharpied his car and over time it fades.

    Agreed.

Back in the day getting into mischief for us didn't involve destroying other people's property.

there is not justice here. if the school finds out who did it, what then? worst case, the parents take away the junk food for a couple days.
