4.0L 1GR 2nd Gen Oil Change Guide

    Hey yall

    Went to the dealer yesterday and picked up a couple of filters and they gave me different crush washers for the oil drain plug. They are metal with a bluish black vinyl type coating on them... Parts guy said they were the new type.

    Weren't the old ones an orangeish color?

    Anyone else getting these new type? Crappy picture below

    i either forget and just let it fall down on the lower control arm lol, or i take a solo cup and put some napkins in it and stick it down there. works like a charm.

    x2 Hold it there, once most of it drains from the shield I just wipe it off with a towel and call it good. It won't drip out slowly like the actual engine. A lot will stay in the filter and may leak out of the filter once you set it aside but you don't have to worry about the filter post dripping

    I have been starting to find more and more shit that the previous owner has either lost or neglected. For example, the little plug at the bottom of the filter holder.

    My '09 2.7 uses the 90915 yzzG1.
    My '01 4.3 Lexus uses the 90915 yzzD3.

    They look identical, and the G1 screws on the Lexus motor just fine. But now I realize they are not "identical". Anyone know what the differences really are, and if you would expect any issue with a G1 on the Lexus motor?
