I don't really trust memory card companies other than sandisk or toshiba.... That's the one thing in photography I won't skimp out on.. Memory cards.

Bought three of their cards that went wheels up within the first week or so. Tried to work with them to repair them, no joy. I was out the cost of three 8G cards and they blamed it on the camera. The cards are gone, I still have the camera

x3 on ebay...as far as the shutter count thats not a lot, but that doesnt mean the 2066 it was used for were not in bad conditions.

If you want to buy used, there are several options. If you're a regular on the photo forums, start there. I say regular cause if you sign up and just want to buy, it's likely the seller will think twice about it--like here, building a rep helps. Places like B&H and KEH offer used gear. One benefit of that is they also have a chance to look at it before it goes on sale.

Hey Jake. I liked the processing on your shots. Not crazy about the poses but the model makes up for it ;)

    Mohawk. Also, nice work!

    Thanks Ian!

Jake, that's the best way... when i got my start back in the mid 90s, it was all film so you never really knew what you were getting until you got the film back, but friends are always great to recruit as you hone your style...

as for posing them, make out with the girls first and you won't have any comfort issues composing them... works for me at least... that's why i don't shoot guys... =P

seriously though, it will come to you soon enough... treat people the way you shoot your landscapes... the model is just another prop in your scene...

and, uh, if you can get them to makeout with you, then go for it!!!

    =X

since you already shoot Nikon, you may want to stick with what you know...

im a long time Canon shooter although i did shoot a Nikon F4 back in the 90s, but switching back and forth can add up when you have to switch lenses and flashes too...

kit lenses aren't always the most durable so don't sweat it... as for the body, the Nikon shooters in here will chime in on what it's worth, but you can also do comparables for your area on Craigslist and ebay to gauge how much you should ask...
