Thought I would help people out here abit--
    found these--t-slot nuts 9/16-3/8-16 thread
should work and $3 for a pack of four is a better deal then $3 for one--
    http://www.grizzly.com/products/T-Slot-Nuts-pk-of-4-9-16-Slot-3-8-16/G9513

plus I bought hex head 3/4 inch length bolts on ebay --pack of 15 for $10 shipped
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/3-8-16x3-4-...ultDomain_0&hash=item2c620ee557#ht_500wt_1156

I just need help finding a good bracket to mount a CB antenna or reverse fog spot light.
Not wanting to pay $20 for the group buy on that is going on.

    thanks

This question may be seem silly, but whats the best way to secure the T-nuts in place on the rail? Does a threaded bolt/rod push against the inside track of the rail to push the T-nut against the flanges of the rail? Or does whatever is mounted on the outside of the rail pinch the rail flanges with the T-nut? What I want to do is mount a pair of bars across the bed to hold fishing rods.....I'm thinking T-nuts with drop down pieces, some kind bar stock for the bars, and fishing rod holders designed for the boat mounted to the bars.

Whatever is mounted on the outside of the rail pinches the rail flanges with the T-nut. I used a 1x2 as a spacer to mount a my shovel.[IMG]

First post here but just wanted to weigh in on the subject since this thread has been such a great help for me. I tried using the T-bolts as well as the elevator bolts listed earlier in this thread and found them to be lacking for securing for my bike mounts.

After my back-ordered Fastenal T-Slot nuts came in a few weeks ago I got these mounted up and huge difference! These are definitely the way to go. Perfect fit, easy to work with and very secure mounting points.

BTW, I also picked up the hex head 3/4" bolts from the eBay link Goonieman listed above and they developed surface rust after just a couple wet weeks here in Nor Cal so I picked up a set of stainless T-45 Torx-head screws instead. Few bucks more but definitely the way to go

    Ones that fit.:p

From the description of the Nut:
    Thread: 3/8"-16
Height: 5/8" (So you want this length plus the width of what your bolting to it plus a little bit)

I found someone on eBay that is selling them for $1 each. They are going to order 12 for me and charge me about $11 for shipping. They have some now that thread the whole way thru, I want the other ones.

If you have them ship to the store I don't think you have to pay shipping.
