vibration after lift install

I need some help, Just installed spacer lift up front, Procomp AAL with 0-2" skyjacker shocks in the rear. Put on 285/70 17 BFG MT's with eagle alloys and I am experiencing some bad vibration at around 20 mph and I know it is not the tires because this occured after the lift was put on but before the MT's were added. I have also front diff. drop at the time of the lift.

but sounds like its your carrier bearing. the driveshaft angle is too high but it can be fixed with a carrier bearing drop. go here:http://www.streetacos.com/Products.html

thanks for the reply, I went to the web site and printed out the drop kits. Are these hard to do? Do you alot of people have to do this because as soon as the lift was put on and I drove it for the first time it did this.

they just got recently checked and they were fine so I am not sure.

 

BINGO! Change out the Carrier Bearing while you're there (unless it's ok)

Carrier bearings are pressed on and off. I'll just about guarantee you that adding quarter inch spacers between the carrier bearing bracket and peaked will take care of your problem.

 

I don't mean to be ignorant but the 1/4' spacer your speaking of would you do this instead of the CB drop kit or both or is it the same thing?

 

If your truck is sounding like that I bet the bearing is dead. Replace the bearing with a new one and install the drop. You'll be cruising happy. 1/4 drop and cb drop kit is the same thing.

 

Yep.....quarter inch slavery is same as cb drop kit......just way cheaper to do.....and has same effect. BTW.....I sell spacers that I make. $15 for a set shipped to you.

these are the spacers i make...nothing special or fancy.....just some 1/4 inch aluminum spacers that drop your carrier bearing a bit making the angle better.

 

the spacers will work just like the carrier bearing drop kit and probably cheaper. i suggested the drop kit because most of the time spacers are the devil around here
