saw an unusual tacoma today. The tailgate had an emblem reading (i think)HHO Hybrid. Don't know if it was something the owner had made or not but it looked like a quality emblem. On a black crew cab tacoma. i should have taken a photo but didn't want to aim a telephoto at a man's house.

N-fabs, BakFlip VP, power tailgate lock, bed lights, "raptor" grill lights. Standard mall crawler stuff.
That could be, you could write HYBRID with a Sharpie and a tree hugger would believe it. :)

    Yes.
Well, the Toyota emblem isn't stock...neither are the other emblems. eBay shopper? (Especially with the tail light selection.)

when i shot the photo the guy came running out of the house as hot as a firecracker shouting "what the hell are you doing?" I tried to explain but he would have none of it. I finally told him to get my plate # and call the cops, so he looked at the plate and ran back into his house. haven't heard from the cops yet. they're probably watching the superbowl.

The emblems say "HHO HYBRID". Assuming the guy actually has such a system installed in his Taco, it would use battery power to separate water into hydrogen and oxygen through electrolysis, then feed the hydrogen back into the engine to supplement gasoline (hence the "hybrid"). The claim is better fuel economy, but it violates the laws of thermodynamics...

Come to think of it, the owner's rather paranoid reaction to you taking a photo of his truck probably indicates he had an HHO system installed. Anyone gullible enough to actually install such a system probably also believes in consipiracy theories. "Big Oil/government/Illuminati is out to get him!"
