I have an 07 SR5 double cab. It has the stock 5 disk sterio and factory speakers still in it. The sound just isn't what I would like it to be. I don't have the money to do the stereo and speakers all at the same time. Am I better off to replace the speakers or the stereo first? What size speakers do I need to replace the factory ones? Any sugestions on brands?

I'm no audiophile, but I changed my stock head unit out and am more then happy with the stock speakers.

Plus in changing out the head unit I was able to add GPS, Back-Up Camera, Hands Free, IPOD Control and Satelite Radio all in one unit.

To me it was way more worth it then just adding speakers and not even being able to play MP3's with the stock set-up.

I'm running a 5 year old Pioneer AVIC-D3 and it still makes the stock speakers crank.

What unit did you get? Any pics? Price including install? I have Sirius Sportster 5 and would like to keep it, but I want to upgrade my head unit to a stereo/DVD/navigation unit. I also want to add so speakers and possibly a sub.

I have a Kenwood DNX6960. There are several similar units out there such as the Pioneer Avics.
I bought the Kenwood because they use Garmin GPS software which i am familiar with and can get map updates for.

It was about $800 and I installed it myself in a few hours.
If you look at my other posts I posted some pics.
