The blocks comment was a joke as well.

How high do you want to go in the front? You've got a PreRunner right?

Not far off, just put daystar lift blocks in the rear with a 3'' strut spacer on fronts to complement it. It was a PAIN in the ass, had to work to get the struts back in. Wish someone would have told me that before.

if you tow dakars by OME are a good option. but you will need a front lift for this application

    edit-

saw you said you wanted 4-6" lift in the back. dakars are like 2.75" i think

your wanting to drop the coin on spindles. yet not rear lift? I confused sir

and 5100s are shocks and struts, the front preload the springs to achieve lift, the rear 5100s are shocks, so no lift there.

since your talking about spindles im hoping you have a prerunner. if your truck is 4x4 you cant run lift spindles.

there are a couple ways you can "do it right"

spindle lift/coilovers that you have talked about is a great choice, but your gunna pay, and your gunna pay to get the ass of the truck up as well. its the nature of the beast.

if you are looking for more budget friendly your going to have to go to a smaller lift. OME makes great products, paired with some dakars. this is generally around a 3" lift.

also all pro makes some decent rear leaf packs that give 3" of lift i believe.

there is the ever popular 5100/eibach lift that can get you around 2.5" of lift in the front if you preload the eibachs but ive read somewhere that its not recommended.

also you can take the coilover route and not run spindles. but your looking at around a grand there just for the front. these are adjustable and can go anywhere from stock to about 3" usually.

generally to sum it up, stay away from spacers and you should be alright, everything else is just preference and performance.

with 3" lifts you also have the ability to run add a leafs in the rear to get some lift to level the truck out. but if you tow i highly recommend getting new packs, the toyota packs suck. plain and simple. I tow a boat thats not that heavy, and my packs are starting to droop, even with an AAL.

bout $400, they offer a standard and expo leaf pack. for towing id recommend the expos

and in all honesty. the best way is to just save up and get what you want.

i used to think the way you are right now, went out and bought a shitty pro comp lift, and am not looking to replace the entire thing. so basically im out 450 bucks cuz i couldlnt wait. now im regrettin it.

    ^^
Loaded, expos give 3", unloaded they give 1" more

and like he said, shocks only stop the leaf pack from bouncing all over the place, they dont provide lift
