I am getting to ready to pull the the trigger on some duratracs due to the balancing issues people seem to be having does everyone recommend to getting your alignment checked when the tires are installed? Mine just hit a year old and 20,000 miles

Not many people running this size, but they have been great for what I do as well!

I'm going to grab a set of 265/75/16 for my 1st gen.
The forums suggest I won't have problems on my TRD with the stock rims, but what if I change them to aftermarket 16's?

Anyone running rims other than stock on a 1st gen?

For your first question, what are you asking? What would a "problem" consist of? If you're running 265/75/16's on stock 16" wheels, why would aftermarket wheels be a "problem"?

For your 2nd question, are you serious? Have you looked at the wheels/tires forum? Of COURSE people are running rims other than stock on 1st gen Tacomas.

Well firstly, if you knew what the stock 1st gens are running you would know they aren't running 265/75/16s, and many people are reporting rubbing with this tire size, especially with double cabs.

That said, People running the stock rims haven't had problems, but some tire/rim combinations have in fact had rubbing.

I wasn't hasn't if the truck can run aftermarket rims, I was asking if people encounter problems when doing so with these tires that are NOT a stock size.

I should have made it more clear although I assumed most people would know what my previous post was referring to!

Yeah, because I don't own a 1st gen or anything

Truth is, I would like to help, if possible. It's just that your question was really vague and not worded very well. After seeing the same questions on TW forums posted time after time I suppose my patience is a bit thin. So, good luck with your Duratracs, and make sure that your offset, backspacing etc. is in line with what's working for other folks.

    No worries!
I didn't realize you had a '99 because I was viewing the site on my iphone.
That's a good point about the spacing and offsets though, anything you would recommend I look out for?

I am looking at these tires for my truck. How many miles will these tires average over their life?

Hey LUSETACO, how is the road noise now that they've worn down a bit? More? Same as new?

I love my DuraTrac's. I havent had them on for too long, but I've tested them out in the snow and mud and damn do they grip. Totally worth the money IMO.

I probably have half the miles he does on mine and mine are substantially quieter now than when they were new.

    Yes
I can see them going to 50k at least, but I don't like to let my tires wear down too far.
