rims and tires

I'm new here so should i get 18 inch rims on 32s or 20 inch rims on 32s? My truck has a levelling kit on it.

 

I would just go ahead and get some 32" wheels and tires. They would be great when off-roading.

 

It's up to you man. Everyone is going to sit here and say 17s or less. But it's YOUR truck. IF you want big rims on 32s go for it, if you want a decent ratio I'd go 18s. I have 18s on 35s on my old truck and they look pretty big... but then again if 20s were cheaper I'd have them on my tacoma.

I had 18s on my previous Tacoma and have 20s on the new one only because they were on it when I bought it. Personally, I like the look of 18s better.

You should get 16's with the 32's, the more meat the better.

Me either, depending on the vehicle. I don't get why putting 20's on a Pre-runner or 4x4 and having low profile tires is so popular unless it's lifted. I mean your taking an off road truck and giving it a lowered type look. I like them on lifted Taco's but still think 18's are plenty. But imo, if I want low profiled tires I would just have an X-Runner or lowered base truck. But to each his own.

 

^ Those of you who offload (me included) mainly stick to mud & rocks, well I live on the coast and where there's a coast there's a beach with sand. I think my setup is perfect for what I need it for, and I LOVE the way it looks. But I do plan to go to 33x12.5 when these NTGs are worn, maybe sooner.

 

I'm not really talking about off roading, more about looks. I just think once a wheel gets so big on a particular vehicle it ruins it for me. I love Bama Taco's white truck, I think the 18's on that one with the lift looks good. But 20's imo is too much on the Taco's. But again, to each their own. I'm not knocking anyone that has them, just not my thing. Now I did love the 20's on my Ram, but it was a bigger truck. I don't really wheel mine, not that I won't, but the only reason I went down from the 17's to 16's was because I got a great deal on my wheels. But it does make me feel better if I do wheel it.

Not mine. Screen name lightmup's truck. 20's on 33x12.50 Kumhos. I like to post that video when people talk about either 20's not working well off road or for people that say drop bracket lifts aren't made for off road. He has a DB kit with 20's and does ok on the trails it looks like to me lol

 

RayRay, I really can't help you decide between 18s and 20s as others have said that is a personal preference choice. Since you are looking at getting new rims I can give you some guidance with that:

Whatever you do be sure to buy BLACK rims! This is very important. Don't even think about not following the crowd and buying anything other than BLACK rims! If you try to get all fancy and choose something original or unique you will be immediately banished from the realm of Cooldom and face a life of isolation!
