First thing you need to do if it's never been out is remove it and turn it over so you can get to the damn valve!

I had one of those. They are really slow. But, it's better than nothing and driving on semi flat tires.

Can't you tell by the valve stem? I think my spare just has a rubber stem to where the tpms are metal stems.

Yeah, my 2006 had a TPMS sensor in the spare, till a the dumb ass of a technician at the dealer replaced the missing aluminum valve stem cap with a steel one.... I was not aware that they did that..... over winter the 2 different metals (TPMS is aluminum) reacted and the cap and became totally seized on......the TMPS showed a low tire...all were good, so I check the spare....I cannot get the cap off as it is siezed.....Took pliers to it... No more stem...twisted off in my hands..... Dealer would not come good for it... so I put in a non TMPS valve stem and a small piece of electrical tape over the friggin' dash light.... All is good again....!!

Stupid TPMS system.....they will let your pressure drop over 5 PSI without telling you. Do NOT rely on it....

    Cheers....

    Over

Damn, I was looking at buying some of the TRD caps on ebay. I don't know if they're aluminum or what, I'll have to check them out again.

Also, 5 psi? No sh*t? That is totally worthless if true. Not saying it isn't, I mean maybe each system isn't calibrated evenly? That doesn't make me feel any better. I've been letting mine go more than normal because of having the tpms.

Yea it isn't hard just set the pump to pump itself pop the hood give everything a wiggle to make sure it's secure, check fluids, check tire pressure, reset trip meter, roll away.
