DDM tuning ballast

I've searched and haven't found much info on this subject. I'm going to be ordering a foglight kit from ddm soon. Which kit do y'all recommend raptor or ddm slim kit?

 

I'm leaning toward ddm slim kit

 

Any help?

TRS....all the way. Customer service is the BEST. Any questions or help you need they will take the time to answer. I bugged them a lot during my retro, and they were always helpful and professional. Wouldn't go anywhere else.

You are not going to put HID's in factory reflector housings are you??

 

I was planning on it. How much did it cost are how hard was the retro?

 

Please DON'T DO IT. Anyway it would be a waste if you did. Do some research on it. Wasted light output, hazardous to other drivers, waste of money. Do yourself a favor save a little more money and do a complete retro, it's not that hard if you take your time. DON'T BE THAT GUY.......there are PLENTY of other people on here that will tell you the same thing.

A complete retro from TRS will cost about $250-300+ depending on what kit you get, and you get everything you need to retro the headlights. "Search" is your best friend. Look up other members retro projects and you will see what i mean. I did the complete retro including the fogs with projectors and couldn't be happier. It took about 1 weekend all together.

Don't be afraid to ask other members questions about it......there are some very knowledgable people on here that are more than willing to help someone.

 

Did you buy the whole retro kit. How are the high beams compared to stock?

 

A Bi-Xenon (projector) kit blows the stock bulbs out of the water. I actually convinced a friend of mine this morning to do a retro and i didn't even say a word.......I just turned the low beams on and he was impressed, Then I flipped to high beams and all he said was "OK". You will light up the world.

I haven't heard anything bad about a retro. Can you tell me what to get if I decide to go retro?

 

Get what you want, you don't have to do retros cause he says so, plenty of people have HID in their rides just aim them the best you can so they are not all messy and up in the air, yeah hes right scattered output on the lights when you put them HID's on, thats why retro mod fixes that.

I think they raised prices a little since I bought mine a few months ago but it seems there is a group buy on here monthly, lol. A lot of people also go with the Mini H1 kits. It's mostly personal preference. Check out the web site....Hell, give em a call, talk to em, talk to other members. Just DON'T BE THAT GUY and put HID's in your reflectors, it's annoying and stupid.

 

I've been looking into hids for about 2 years now and can't decide. Hids in reflectors that have no glare and look good but some that glare really bad

 

I'm not trying to sell you something, or sell something for anyone else, i'm trying to help you out. do some research before you do it. I was thinking the same thing you are before someone helped me out and explained the in's and out's of HID's.

 

What's the ins and outs. The glare and light patterns?

 

I understand where you are coming from but not everyone has $300 to Modify their head lgihts, it is great advice that you suggested just giving my input as well.

 

Search man search. let your fingers do the walking. An HID bulb is not meant to be in a Reflector housing, that is what halogens are for...designed for. The HID bulb needs to be in a projector to help focus the light. The bulb itself is totally different design. The projector is what makes a difference.
