Well, my biggest Christmas present was my Tacoma that I bought for myself in mid-December. Still enjoying the devil out of it, obviously.

I got the 4-disc Blade Runner set on DVD. Man, I had forgotten how much I used to like that movie! I got Transformers on DVD and this 35 year-old guy still loves to watch Optimus Prime, Megatron, and company.

A few clothes, gift certificates and such. Some hiking accessories for my many trips to the north Georgia/North Carolina mountains...a good Bowie knife from my brother, some binoculars, outdoor rain gear, etc.

On the music front, I received R.E.M. - ...And I Feel Fine: The Best Of The I.R.S. Years 1982-1987. It's a great collection of the old classic R.E.M. stuff back when they were still a college band and before they "wussed out" with the weak slow stuff that they've been recording lately. I already owned all of these songs on the original CD's, but it's nice to have them nicely remastered and the tracklist on this early greatest hits is well-chosen. So, my 2007 Tacoma trips in recent days have been soundtracked by "Driver 8", "Radio Free Europe", "(Don't Go Back To) Rockville", "Begin The Begin", "Finest Worksong" and all of those other killer old R.E.M. tracks that take me back to my teenage years.
