I put on a new silver Retrax cover. I was able to put it together and put it on myself in about 2 1/2 hours. 4 bolts connect to the side rails, so it can come back off pretty fast. I had to take off the front rail so it sits far enough forward in the bed. You can't use the rail cleats with the cover on the side rails, as they sit up too high and hit the cover.
It was $1100. Very easy to slide it and lock it, and the canister it rolls into keeps the cover from rubbing against itself.
Next, I'm putting in the electric tailgate lock so no one can get into the bed, or steal the tailgate.

Sunday I swapped the commuters for the mudders & took it for it's first swim.

I must say I do like the KM2s. Took them for a swim, no problems.
Monday took them on the first trail, run no problems. I should have aired down for the trail run just for comfort reasons, never ran into any traction problems. Without the 3" lift & the 33" tires I would have done a nose stand. I came very close to planting the front bumper & then dragging the rear.

Today I have wash it then swap the mudders for the commuters (not looking forward to seeing the Dungflops back on it but I have a 280 mile/week commute so MPGs are a factor).

It's 5 to 10 minutes walk back to the house if I needed to get the PreTaco to yank me out. And I stayed out of the deepest part (probably around or over 4')
Yes I noticed them. It's a busy street and the puddle is there from sometime in the Fall or Winter untill some time in the Spring or Summer.

It was over the top of the wheels, but not up to the top of the wheel well/fender on the deep side.

I was just at Home Depot and looked up the parts. The stuff HD sales is from Thomas & Betts. These are the kind that fit "A" series strut. The UPC part number for the 3/8" Spring Nut is 616013069745. These have springs on them. You can take it off if you don't need it.

You can find spring nuts in 1/4", 3/8", and 1/2". All are for the "A" series strut and will fit the Tacoma bed rails. All are around $4 for a pack of 5.
