contact corporate HQ and explain to them and try to get them to crack the whip, other than that i believe they pretty well have you by the balls on this one. i would recommend switching as soon as this is all settled, even if you have to pay a little more.

yeah, i'm approaching a month and have not received one call from state farm. Only contact i have had is when I contact them directly, or contact my local rep.

Who are you with so I know to stay away from them.

Edit: Refreshed the page and my question was answered. You know the rental car might go toward the total of the claim also, so the longer you have it, the more it counts.

I'd just call them every day and ask for an update. Write down everything you hear, names of the people you talk to, etc. Be prepared to read it all back to the next person you talk to if they're not familiar with your case.

Call the local agent every day as well. Don't assume that b/c you talk to SF corporate that they'll automatically be in the loop.

Did you use a State Farm approved shop? I can't remember what they call them, select service or something?

no rental car. I didn't pay for that coverage.

I do my best to keep in contact with everyone. The only person that has been good about this is the place where my truck is right now. They are a state farm preferred location as well.

Once I finally got the estimate, I was supposed to hear within 24 hours from an adjuster. Guess What, I didn't. Left him several messages and have still not received a call from him. Finally I forced the first adjuster I got in contact with to look into it and thats when they told me my truck is worth several thousand dollars more than what i paid for it brand new. So needless to say, I pitched a fit the most professional way I knew how. So then I called the local sales agent and he basically gave me the run around and said "i'll call you monday".

And again, I'm still in the dark with no one answering or returning calls. I've been discussing this with my mom throughout this whole process and we are considering the possibility of threatening to take them to court just to see if that will light a fire under their asses.

If they're a state farm preferred place, you shouldn't need an adjuster. The whole reason they do that is so that they can do it all in one fell swoop. See if the shop can cut the adjuster out if he's the problem.

Also, I'd keep my mouth shut about court until it's a last resort. Even then, don't say anything, just find an attorney who will write a letter on your behalf, then send the letter registered mail. They get threats all the time, but it shows that you've actually got the balls to do it when they get that letter. I'd be careful with that though, even still. State Farm probably gets sued all the time, and will have a team of top shelf attorneys. It's kinda like a nuclear option. Even if you win, it's gonna hurt.

I agree, and when I say taking it to court, I was referring to a situation where I finally talk to someone of merit or importance and subtly drop the "i'd hate for this to have to go to court" or something. There's gotta be someway to let them know how much they are inconveniencing me. I'm tired of getting thrown in the automated phone loop every time I call.

565 has been bad on SWB's as of late. There was a wreck yesterday evening involving one. A friend called asking if it was me.

Xodeuce is right about the suing option. If you have to do it...it will still hurt. My Dad has been playing the same merry go round for 2 years now with his truck. The thing is totaled but the adjusters say it isn't. He sued but it takes awhile to get it through the wonderful judicial system we have in place.

Hopefully they will get off their asses and get you squared away.

not only that but if you mention lawsuit they have an easy way out. its called call it totaled and start knocking everything they can find you did to it off the lowest KBB (or whatever they are using now) price and then you end up with no truck no left over mod stuff and about 6 grand in your pocket and searching for another insurance place when one of the major ones is going to let all them know that you are "sue happy"

I would call your agent everyday 2-3 times a day and let them deal with the adjusters. that is what you pay them for

I have state farm and I never deal with any body but my agent.
