New Mexico Owners BS Thread

Only four years? I'm on my second battery in the truck. Replaced the OEM one just over a year ago.

 

I haven't driven one but those seem to be nice cars. Look good anyway.

 

I'm on my 2nd battery in my truck. It might last through next winter, but they never seem to go more than 5 years for me.


My truck sits a lot w/o being driven though because I ride the Duc to work when ever I can. I don't know if that's harder on the battery than driving it every day.

I bought my truck new in '04 and only have 90,000 miles on it.

 

I think he means an Optima battery.

 

Have the car on the brain. Wife and I are toying with the idea of changing our vehicle lineup.

 

From what to what? My ex is pretty happy with her '08 Mazda 6.

 

The current Hyundai and Kia cars are high on the list. We had thought about trading in her Pathfinder. Get something a little smaller, better on gas. But then we'd have a car payment again since a dealer will try to rape us on the trade, so it's kinda counter productive. Seems like a lot of headache for minimal gain. Plus we use her truck's capacity a lot. The option that makes the most sense is trading the Taco for a car. I drive the most miles (60 a day), and we can't all ride in it. But it will be a cold day in hell before we get rid of it.

I need a small econobox that I can pay off real quick and keep minimal insurance on to realize any decent savings.

 

And wants, too. Sometimes it's hard to tell the difference.

 

well turns out the battery was almost completely dry! ha ha so its been watered and is currently charging i have to say its the original battery since 06 and cant believe its lasted this long, but i did just get a my state tax refund so looks like i might be getting an optima anyway

Dang, that's a pretty fast refund!

 

My last year paying NC taxes the state was so broke they held on to the refunds until enough people that owed paid up. It was ghey.

 

Wow! That's bad.

My ex & I were going to get our taxes done last Saturday, but she fell off of a horse & broke her elbow badly, so we had to cancel.

I don't think we were expecting any refunds, though.

 

Does anybody know a good tax guy? Went to a great guy 2 years ago but he retired just before last tax season. We didn't know where to go so we let H&R Block rape us for the prep and filing. Not doing that again.

 

why not just use turbotax or taxact?

 

Not ruled out. Reason we used acountant was we had just moved, bought and sold houses, and had a lot of medical bills, and had to cash in an IRA. Little too complicated for me.
