Might be kind of hard to find fenders to trade, probably still have to paint the front bumper extension piece. As I'm pretty sure the rest of the fender flare is the same for all 2nd Gens (aside from LB vs SB)

    I suggest just painting them:cool:

Can you paint the plastic? It seems like due to the texture the paint wouldn't stick or ever be as glossy. I don't know much about auto body though. Anyone ever paint fenders to color match? I'm still up for a trade if anyone wants some nice rugged plastics :D

    Yes.
You can paint them. They aren't very glossy coming from the factory anyway. Better off having them painted. I had to replace a flare and it now looks much better than my original ones. Heh.

    Yes you can paint them:cool:

    - sand them lightly (use 800+)
    - wipe with wet cloth (Don't use a paint thinner to clean them)
    - apply an adhesion promoter (follow directions on can about when to apply paint)
    - paint (use a good auto paint and it will have a nice gloss)

Apply 1 light coat then a second thicker coat & you'd be golden. You can do the same for your front bumper as well.

Trust me if I were you. Don't bother trading as the factory ones are so ugly compared to the paint on the fenders.

I had all mine repainted because of the ugly texture faded look. Now mine look like gloss/wet paint.

    100x better!

Just shop around and have them repainted. You'll love the end result much better.

    Yes.
Check out ^ RAD's build thread. You can see how the paint perfectly matches after he got his repainted. The factory finish isn't very nice. I could also take a photo of mine sometime...

    hmm.... very interesting.

Definitely snap some pics if you have the time.

Did Rad's build have color match fenders to begin with or black? I couldn't find any pics.
