I take that back, I'm not sorry. He's asked about 6 questions here and in live that he would have gotten the answer for if he'd READ the first post.

 You have nothing to be sorry for...if you're the one bringing it to his attention, he probably needs to look at what he's doing wrong! ;) :)

No it is not a matter of what I am doing wrong. I have asked multiple questions you are right but I have had different answers. I thought that this is a truck forum where people come to ask questions but apparently I have been mistaken. Sorry I don't know everything under the sun about my truck.

It is a place to come and ask questions... BUT, if there is a thread about what you are doing, then you need to read the thread and you will probably get 99% of your questions answered.

Thanks for the great write up. I guess it's not that difficult, but being able to see pics and read the how-to gave me the motivation to get it done! I got after it today and changed the diff, tranny, and motor oil all in one shot! New juice for my ride!

also, a tip for those of us in the fire service, empty AFFF pails make excellent used oil containers. Screw-on lids, and 5 gallon capacity plus a carrying handle. Can't beat it. And, for those of you not in the fire service, you could probably just stop by your local station and ask if they have any empty pails laying around...

Would you guys recommend using redline shockproof for the diff (front and back ) and the transfer case? Also, if using this, it states that there are friction modifiers already so would it still be better to add the LSD friction modifier?

    Hi Chris...

I have read that many uses the redline MT90. If I may ask, what did you use?

Also, I just commented on your spark plug change write up. Thanks for that as well.
I'm pretty new to 4x4 but I have been a Toyota owner since 16 years old. I still have my 1985 corolla gts drift car but havent raced in a few years. I pretty much maintain everything and do all my maintenance and upgrades but being new to the truck scene 4x4 especially, I better get technical info from people who are more experienced on the subject.

On my corolla, I use mobil 1 syn 15/50.. trans royal purple, diff redline shockproof with redline lsd additive. The car is a beast!

In the LS Diff rear ends, I use regular "Dyno" oil, and 6 oz. of a MOPAR addative. In open diffs, I prefer Mobile 1 gear oil 75-90. The LS diffs need the oil changed on a regular interval, as the clutch disks inside wear, and create debris in the oil.

Thanks for the input Chris. I'll just maintain both diff's and transfer every 6 months. Transmission once a year. This Taco is a keeper for me so Im gonna give her lots of TLC. That's my routine with the corolla but I change all fluids on it before and after a race event.

;) Id just follow the milage in the manual, and you should be fine. 30k miles or whatever its listed as for the diffs is just fine.

Do I need to use the LSD additive since I have the TRD OffRoad? I know this may be a stupid question but humor me.
