Nothing huge but they have the houndstooth pattern plastered in several places. And Bama isn't the only one doing it with Nike but the gloves are starting to get old to me too. It's just little stuff.

When we changed the A in the middle of the field to cursive we had a run of bad luck so im scared of any kind of change

 

In SC one legislature is trying to make it a law where clem. and S. carolina has to play each other in one game during their schedule. In other words they trying to keep the rival going.

 

When Bama and Auburn refused to play each other, the state of Alabama nearly cut all funding to the schools.

 

Its actually the legislature always wants them to play each other every year. They dont want the acc and sec to plan their schedule to where they want be playing each because that will break the tradition.

 

The first pic was Nike's fault, and it's the price we pay for taking all of their free stuff. Unlike the crap they pulled with Georgia's unis last year, or what they do to Oregon every damn week, it was nearly impossible to tell the difference from the stands (I was there), and you could only tell on TV when they did a really close-up shot. When I think of Alabama's uniforms, I still consider them unchanged since forever. The only exceptions were the white helmets we used for a few seasons YEARS ago.

The second one will not happen, so I'm not worried about it.

Like you, I like simple, plain, consistent uniforms: Bama, Penn State, USC, auburn, etc.

 

Time for football withdrawls to set in....college/pro is over for months to come.

 

This.....I hate the alternate Michigan Unis. I always love the traditional ones.

 

I was in the stands for a couple of games that year too, I didn't notice it from the stands in the student section with my sister at the Iron Bowl or up at the very top during family weekend, I just don't like the idea of complicated alternate uniforms. If they do it once a year for a rivalry game, as I said before, I am cool with it. I am also getting tired of the "blackouts" and such. They often look cheaply done.

 

Football is never over. Spring games will come up soon. This is off season, time for everyone's hopes to be unrealistic (unless you're USC, Bama, or LSU)

 

Our guys could wear their underwear & I wouldn't care as long as they win.

There is a chance that SEC conference expansion will claim one significant victim: The Georgia-Auburn series.

Georgia athletic director Greg McGarity said Wednesday that SEC athletic directors will meet near the end of the month to discuss future football scheduling. With the conference’s addition of Texas A&M and Missouri, the two biggest questions: 1) Will the SEC go to a nine-game conference schedule? 2) Will expansion force for the end of the SEC’s annual East-West rivalry games of Georgia-Auburn and Alabama-Tennessee?

Answer to No. 1: Probably not.

Answer to No. 2: Possibly.

Georgia-Auburn is known as the “Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry,” dating back to 1892. They have played every year since 1898, with three exceptions: 1917, 1918 and 1943. The reasons: World War I and World War II. It appears “Conference Armageddon” may have an equal impact.

The ACC recently announced that teams will begin playing nine-game conference schedules when Pittsburgh and Syracuse officially join the league. McGarity is against the SEC increasing from eight-game schedules and does not sense there’s any movement in that direction. He said nine conference games might necessitate schools dropping a traditional local rivalry. Examples: Georgia-Georgia Tech, Florida-Florida State and South-Carolina-Clemson.

The future of Georgia-Auburn is less certain. Expansion will lead to schools playing six games against division opponents and two against the opposite division. (The current breakdown is five-three.) But there are only two traditional East-West rivalries in the SEC, which could lead to schools rotating opponents from the opposite division.

“I think if you ask Alabama and Tennessee, like us and Auburn, we’d like to retain the games,” McGarity said. “But does that work? What do the other 10 schools think? Those four schools like having those games but there’s no other East-West match-up that has that piece of history to it. So I don’t where that fits in.”

He said athletic directors will study “numerous models” when they meet.

“With 14 teams, not everybody will be happy,” he said. “Some will have a problem with everything. But we’ll make decisions based on the best situation of the league.”

They better not get rid of that game. I'll be pissed. I already dislike MIZZOU/aTm comin to the conference, this will just be icing on the cake.

There's history there. Need to keep it.

 

This, just because aTm and Mizzou don't like their traditions doesn't mean they have to ruin others.
