I think I'm wrong, I remember Ryan saying something about parting it out and then Will got a AP bumper and I just assumed he got it from Ryan

 

I thought Ryan said he was going to sell it as is before he left and then it didn't get sold. Otherwise I might have to cannibalize it too

 

Nothing was sold off the truck. I am willing to part it out I just need stock parts. I trashed the bumper supports but kept the bumper cover for the front. And Jason let me know what your interested in and I will see what I can do.

 

support as in the aluminum piece behind the front bumper? i have one sitting in my front room.

 

correct. that and all the little brackets that hold everything on. I got sick of looking at it all in my garage and chunked it.

 

brackets as in the little plastic clips and junk? i don't have any of those unfortunately, but if you want the aluminum piece at any point, let me know and i can change my CL add to just be for the plastic bumper.....since you probably don't want a swb bumper

 

Little update from John.....he's working on some lower control arm skids. unlike the total chaos ones, these onse contour the curves of the LCA. his final product will use low profile hardware that won't hang up on things as easily. i'll be picking up the first set from him and testing them out. and i believe if all goes well, he's thinking about making more!

 

Ryan, i got dibs on that bumper brother. I'll send the money on the 25th.

 

Colin i want a tiregate that goes behind the stock tailgate and stands up to one side. I dont know if im explaining it right but i can picture it in my head.

 

if you don't want a whole new bumper yet, CBI makes this

 

yeah, tim, with the tight tolerances between our tailgates and taillights, and the lack of structural ingegrity of our rear bumpers, the only good ways to have a tire swing out while retaining the tailgate is to have a full on rear bumper, or do a hitch mount like CBI. i've had a number of people actually ask me about mounting swing outs to their stock rear bumper. i've looked into it, and you're better off just going with an enitire new bumper. I can build you a hitch mounted swing out, but i've never been crazy about those because of the play you get, which is just the nature of a hitch.
other option would be to get an aftermarket plate bumper, and i can add a swing out to that for you.

Picked up a set of these used from my parts department yesterday, damn good price, already stripped them of pads so i can throw a couple of coats of bed liner spray on them and put them back together. Hopefully have it done in the next couple of days.

 

nice! when i got the truck, as part of the negotiating, i got them to toss in some tube steps for $20......sold them 2 summers ago for $160

those will look good on your truck in black. hopefully keep the family happy too lol

 

I didnt get that good of a deal, but less than 1/2 price of a brand new pair of them. They are the same ones that jesse has, i like them cause unlike the chrome ones, they dont get in the way when getting in and out of the truck. And yes, in black they should look damn good.

 

Ok Colin can you build a bumper with a swing out?
