I use the Protools notcher with a Makita hand drill. Mine rarely catches, but I feather the trigger to control the speed and usually change out hole saws when they get a little dull and just let the notcher do the work. I think the key is to not force it, just let it do its job and keep decent hole saws on it.

    LOL
My drill is a hammer drill... one time it got put on the hammer setting somehow without me knowing and was notching like crap, vibrating a ton, and chipping teeth. I was stumped to what was wrong til I looked at that little switch on the gearbox and instantly was like

i have a hand drill that would handle it, but for the relatively low cost of a drill press, i might as well make my life a little easier.

Yeah the only time mine will catch is on extreme angles where you have to back out and bend the notched scrap out of the way just to finish it. I'm a lot more careful on those notches. I can get about 200 notches out of one hole saw before i need to change it.

Just the Milwaukee ones from HD 10.00 bucks and they last just as long as the high dollar ones.

I like these here better than regular hole saws for thin metal and Stainless steel. I have from 1/2" up to 2-1/2" and they are a little more money than regular hole saws but well worth it. You run a little slower because they do cut better than regular hole saws.

LOTS of wiring, dual battery setup, Solar charging system, with some random lights spread around here and there.
Never had an issue with the notcher as long as you go slow and watch your speed.

It's freaking sweet:cool: Seriously the coolest school program ever. Lots of schools do it too, might want to check into that if you're in college.
